I think the main problem is that they have a seriously crap forum whereby you can put a poll straight in the middle of a topic, and you only know it's there if you stumble across it accidently. Anyway, Prokopis, it doesn't matter if no-one else votes for other mods, as the final decision lies in the hands of the disc editor. And you seem not to understand that any publicity is worthwhile, no matter how small. Not that PC Zone publicity would be small, as it has an extremely large readership (in the UK anyway). If you vote more than once, it comes up with an error and doesn't add the vote on, so it would do the same for non-members. So how come all these "non-members" managed to score it up to 100? Also, it's not entirely my fault, as I never asked anyone to vote - I just said "look who's winning" (i.e. MTA): In fact, I did actually say later on that all the votes had most likely nullified the poll.

I didn't even know a 450 would run GTA. I have difficulty enough on my other PC, a 1GHz Athlon. I found that switching GTA's priority above normal made a difference. However, it can cause some problems on XP, which tends to have more system processes running at once than other versions of Windows, so it's a matter of playing around. Using this feature, I managed to make GTA smooth-playing on 800x600 where before it was juddery and laggy.

And it's got so bad now (my fault I suppose) that they're probably not going to take any notice of it anyway, 6 votes extra or not.

I wouldn't have said it was impossible. 2k and XP make a lot of things easier though, but they're not impossible on 9x. But as I said earlier, it's going to be obsolete soon, so it would be pointless to spend a lot of time incorporating this.

Probably never. Microsoft were going to stop support for 98 and Me this year, but postponed it until 2008 due to the fact that third world countries may not be able to afford the upgrade at the present time. So, as far as the USA and Europe are concerned, 98 is practically obsolete.

I see your point, but you're forgetting how far MTA has come in just 1 year. It now has a community of 8000, and think how advanced MTA 0.3 is in comparison with 0.1 (in which you could only drive around).

They probably saw the name that you had and banned by IP, meaning that even if you change your name, you're still banned. It's not the latter part of the name that's the problem - "virus" coupled with the letter style that a lot of hackers use sounds extremely dodgy to any admin.

Simple fix: Go to http://www.google.com or .co.uk, whatever. Click on Language Tools at the side, then paste the web address of the page you want translated in the box at the bottom marked "Translate a web page". It's even easier if you have the Google toolbar, as you can just right-click and select "Translate into English". Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if you can get rid of it. I think it indents it automatically whether you like it or not. However, you could use small images as bullets and then you can put them wherever you like.

I've been checking every day (yeah, i know ) and you would have thought that someone would have commented about the fact that MTA has 77 votes and everything else has less than 10. So therefore that must mean that no-one's paying much attention to the poll.

Is there a new virus going around? The reason that I ask is that other sites have been down / laggy also.

Note that I said there may be a mode (it has been suggested in the past and would be a worthy addition to MTA), but as I don't represent the team, my guess is as good as yours.

It's the team's policy to only release necessary details about upcoming versions. Therefore, a racing mode may already have been implemented (something you should have considered before flaming). Actually, I would have said that bug fixing should be the team's priority, because there's no point in putting in a racing mode if it crashes or lags.

Just PM them or speak to them on IRC.

They didn't really put much text in for a Mod of the Month. They really should have put a bit more into explaining why they're calling it Mod of the Month. But any publicity is good publicity, I suppose.
