  1. Here's mine - pretty average:
  2. Nice - 43 votes!! Great idea putting the link in your sig too, Kung Fu.
  3. True, true. I just thought it might *seem* that way to them.
  4. Is it possible to specify unbanned players, for example: Ban 192.168.*.* Unban 192.168.2.1
  5. Yeah, now you mention it, MTA has a large community for a reason.
  6. You're not going to find many people willing to play GTA3, and it isn't the sort of game that plays well with small numbers of people. I'd say that you're best bet is to take a look on Ebay and try to get Vice City cheaply. What MTA really needs is a bunch of always-on dedicated servers. The best way to encourage this is to request hosting companies to add MTA support. Most companies are perfectly happy to do this. I requested MTA support for http://www.instantgameserver.com and they now support VC and will support GTA3 in the future. So come on people, pester those hosting companies.
  7. Although it does look a bit suspicious that MTA is so far in the lead, as if it were being spammed to the top (that's how it might look to them).
  8. Your ISP is assigned a range of IPs that it can use for its clients. Presumably someone in your range committed an offence which caused the admin to block the entire range. Note that just blocking the one IP wouldn't work because they are dynamic on your ISP.
  9. That's a relief, because Core 0.4 is only on 20%.
  10. So Core 0.4 and MTA 0.4 are independent then? I thought that both would have to be 100% in order to release MTA 0.4.
  11. You're not allowed to ask for release dates. However, the MTA team released 3 versions for GTA3 and 3 versions for VC in just one year, so it shows that they work quickly. The team want to promote the best experience possible. Unfortunately, this means that extra time must be spent in researching and incorporating anti-cheat methods. Obviously, this extra time will be beneficial upon release.
  12. A lot of companies put mod-makers on the team for sequels, which gets past such legal issues. It's all it has software-wise, but i'd choose a keyboard and mouse combo any day over a control pad. Also, the best part of the PC is the backwards-compatibility with old games.
  13. Yep, GTA3:MTA isn't very popular at the moment, so you have 2 options: 1. Buy GTA:Vice City and play MTA:VC 2. Wait for MTA 0.4 to come out, which should rekindle interest in GTA3.
  14. Oops... I meant to say at the top that I don't represent the team. I face several problems with my software because I tend to add the new code to the previous version's source, and therefore if people ask me to release a patch between releases, I have to refuse because there are lots of features currently not working 100% and undocumented. Either that, or I have to go through the code commenting out the new stuff - not fun But it will be included in future versions, right?
  15. It'll be a bigger download, no doubt. You'll be able to run it with either GTA3 or VC, but they're both good games, so you wouldn't lose out by buying both.
  16. I doubt they would. There are enough problems with hackers and cheaters already. I'm not saying that you'd leak it or anything, but it could be seen by the wrong people...
  17. You have to remember that they're using the GTA engine, and thus are limited by its graphical limitations.
  18. Ah yeah, that's true. I get problems with my forum, whereby people sign up with porn sites in their sig, and when Google spiders it, it adds to their PageRank.
  19. Bloody hell! When I gave you the link, there were 6 votes for MTA. Now (at the time of writing), there are 24!!
  20. Hopefully it will bring it that one step closer into the mainstream, which it so badly deserves.
  21. And if you head over to PCZone.co.uk, they're doing a poll for the best mods for a future issue, and guess who's in the lead...
  22. Ah yeah, I remember now. http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=6171
  23. Well, at least it proves that boats are possible, and hopefully will spur the MTA team into including them. I didn't really like them in single player because it was pretty boring with just the open sea, but with other players in boats, it sounds quite fun.

    Driver 3 website

Not an exact copy, mind you, but it's taken its fair share of inspiration from VC, yes.
  25. The DNS name is just a pointer to the IP, so couldn't you just transfer MultiTheftAuto.com to the new IP? (I don't really know much about it, as no doubt you gathered). Sorry, it's just my politically correct side kicking in.
