  1. Ah, unfortunately there aren't any bots available for MTA. It's a shame, because I'd really love to play MTA over a LAN. Regarding scripts, you need something called MTAMA (MTA mIRC Admin Tool), which is an add-on for mIRC (http://www.mirc.com). Get it here: http://www.mtavc.com/downloads.php?file_id=69
  2. I'm not overly bothered by the exception error. It's not like it happens all the time, and it's easy enough to get back in the game again quickly. (And for me, it's quite easy to get my low score back )

Oh, sorry, you mean a physical MP3 playing device. I thought you meant MP3 playing software.
  4. Ah yeah. The exchange rate between £ and $ keeps going up, but it's fairly cheap for Brits and extremely cheap for those in Europe.
  5. Another good one is: http://www.instantgameserver.com Cheap and very fast (especially for European players). And they do a free trial.
  6. /me kisses RISO in a non-sexual way
  7. That's more likely to be fixed in the new core than the new client.
  8. Nice! But I'm still loyal to MTA Plus, we haven't seen what MTA 0.4 has to offer yet.
  9. Do you mean doing the single player missions with multiple players? If so, it would be a mammoth task. Each mission would have to be redesigned (i.e. if you had to pick up 5 hookers, that number would have to be multiplied otherwise it would be way too easy). Nice idea though, it would have been fun.

Does it not work in compatibility mode? (that's a laugh, but there's a chance)
  11. The nag screens on ASE don't actually bother me, as you just click them and they go away. But with Gamespy Arcade, you have to wait until the ad has finished playing before you can continue, and some of them last about 20 secs! And the nag screens on ASE only appear once every 7 days, but with GSA, they appear roughly every 3 clicks. I cannot describe anything more annoying.
  12. What, this? I didn't pick up on it because I wasn't quite sure what he meant (quite vague - but it's better than spoiling surprises, I suppose).
  13. In order to sell it, MTA would need to get licensing off Rockstar, and they'd need dedicated support systems, etc, etc and all of the headaches that commercialisation brings with it.
  14. Well, not necessarily. He said that the features had been decided (but he didn't say that they had been implemented) and that work would soon begin on the new core (but he didn't state whether or not the work would begin before or after the release of MTA 0.4 - i.e. splitting up the team to do each (which, of course would reduce the current productive output for MTA 0.4)).
  15. So does that mean that we won't have to wait long for MTA 0.4?
  16. Oh, my mistake. It says 21-day trial, so I presumed it only lasted for 21 days before locking. I had a feeling that I'd had it longer than 21 days but I couldn't quite remember when I installed it.
  17. I can't really think of many people who'd give a whole gigabit line to just one server.
  18. I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. If you mean speed-wise, I managed to get it working (just!) on an 800MHz machine, but I'd say 1.2GHz minimum. If you are talking in terms of the control system, I much prefer the keyboard and mouse system as I am used to it. If you are used to control pads, then you can buy one and use it in conjunction with GTA. It depends what the other machines are doing. I've got 3 on my LAN, and I find no problems at all if I play a game whilst the other 2 are surfing the net. However, if they were also playing games / downloading large files, this might affect it somewhat. ASE is a 21-day trial version, unfortunately. However, you can obtain lists here: http://www.mtaservers.com/index.php?q=list http://www.mtavc.com/servers.php I recall one of the developers once saying that Gamespy had expressed an interest, so presumably future versions of MTA will be supported by Gamespy Arcade. I'm not really bothered by cheaters - if they kill me and I can't kill them, I just respawn and don't bother picking a fight with them again. Also, it can be hard to tell if people actually are cheating (due to some small bugs in places), so I usually give them the benefit of the doubt. I think people tend to exaggerate the number of cheaters (some noobs cry cheater at the slightest thing), but there aren't cheaters on EVERY server, so you can just find another one.
  19. Nice! A lot of your apps have features that should have been included anyway.
  20. Try opening port 2003 on your firewall. I don't think the antivirus would affect anything.
  21. I thought it did - otherwise how else would ASE tell it which server to join?
  22. Will you continue to make your apps, eAi, now that you're on the dev team?

    What we do

A nice idea, but some people just cheat for the "fun" of pissing other people off. Plus, many hackers just love the challenge of cracking something, "putting two fingers up to authority" and suchlike.
