  1. Why do they need to even mention the Xbox? What difference does it make whether it was an Xbox or a CD player? However, I'm predicting that they'll blame the GTA series for the baseball bats. Despite the fact that the guy had a criminal record, he'd never have known that baseball bats can kill people unless he'd seen it in a game first...
  2. You'll be waiting a long time. I think GTA:SA is scheduled to come out in April / May 2005 for PC. They then need to spend time analysing it to check the feasibility of multiplayer (it might not even be possible with SA). Then they have to go about actually coding the thing... so you could be waiting a year for it to come out (on the assumption that it does).

    Teaser

I think it's probably a work-in-progress chatbox. I can't really see a transparent chatbox with white text working very well. Perhaps they hope to make it translucent.

    Teaser

If you press space, it will pause. However, when you unpause, I've noticed that the sound seems to be unsynced to the visuals (not really important in this clip, but perhaps something to bear in mind in the future).
  5. I think there was a slight misunderstanding.
  6. I think he meant that when he moves the mousewheel, it takes time for it to switch weapons. I don't see how MTA would affect this though. That makes no difference though because you can't move during that time. Someone could stand there waiting for you to finish loading, so it's exactly the same as if they were just spawning like in 0.3. In other games, they give you about 3 secs or so of invincibility so that you can get yourself ready for a fight, rather than just being killed almost instantly without having a chance to defend yourself.
  7. You've no doubt seen the "disco" effect that occurs as a result of straining the GTA3 engine. Basically, Kent said that adding the extra islands would strain it even further.

    Teaser

I would, but then again I'm on broadband so the extra size wouldn't make much difference to me. But it's only 5MB, so I don't think it would hit dial-up users too harshly.
  9. I just thought I'd better notify you that the download link on the homepage works, but the one in the forum doesn't. Anyway, this is a great movie, congrats to Oli. 9/10
  10. That's what I thought... but I've just noticed that he said it used to work
  11. Does it work on Windows Server 2003? XP and 2000 are the only ones listed as compatible operating systems.
  12. Yeah, that'd be good. A lot of games have features like that.
  13. Well, to be fair, they did include a Capture the Whoopie script with MTAMA. But for some reason, hardly anyone knows about the scripting features of MTAMA so I've never seen it used. But built-in support would be good.
  14. Nope - nothing is uneditable. They can, however, make it extremely difficult to do so (probably with the new core).
  15. No, he meant it would be nonsense to have no game modes at all. But if the teaser images are true, I can't see any need for new game modes

    MTA 0.4.1 Released

I dunno... infinite health could be useful for stunt mode. It would also stop people running me over for fun. Bastards.
  17. What do you mean by "one of the skins was buggy"? What was the problem with it?
  18. ??? huh ??? I think he's mocking us for our over-eager speculation.
  19. Well, it serves its purpose. From what we've seen, it looks revolutionary... and it's coming (at some point), hence "The revolution is coming" seems to fit. Any other suggestions?
  20. I love that machine that tells you off when you swear. It cracks me up every time. Anyway, this lawyer guy isn't suing them because their game is violent though - he's suing them because it's marketed to children (supposedly, but I have yet to see proof of this). He's hoping to drive them out of business by suing them for all that they're worth, but they have a LOT of money, and he doesn't have a watertight case. So even if he does win, Rockstar will still be in business (thank god).
  21. 1. I don't think they support hotlinking 2. You get very little bandwidth allocated, hence not many people will be able to view the movies before your allocation is reached (and your site will be suspended).
  22. Yeah, but you can only ask for tangible goods (and within a certain acceptable price range).
  23. Yep, good idea. I also think that the scoreboard should order by score, rather than by player ID and that the time that the player has been in game should be shown too.
  24. Well... you can kind of mod MTA at the moment to create your own gamemodes via MTAMA and Admin+. Check out the Add-Ons section of the forum for more details.
  25. I don't think there's a European / American version. I think what that means is that you're downloading ASE from a European / American server, but the file is exactly the same.
