It's far from perfect. In fact, Aeron (the creator of MTAMA) advised in another thread that people disable it.
-
I very much doubt that it'll be fast enough. You'd get better performance running it non-dedicated on the first PC (although RAM may be an issue).
-
Yeah, I get that as well. I think it's just the engine.
-
I don't think they'd reveal his voice because they haven't revealed who the actor is (or even if they've found an actor for the part). Also, is this trailer from the PS2 version? I'm finding it difficult to believe that such a giant, detailed game can run on a console.

For those lazy people among us: http://www.fileplanet.com/files/140000/144609.shtml http://www.edgefiles.com/files/16342.html (lower quality) Edit: The great thing about not living in America is that I can log onto Fileplanet in the mornings without having to queue It didn't really show anything that hadn't been shown before via screenshots, but it was good to see it in action.

I'd say they're both about the same with regards to LAN play, although I have noticed that explosions don't seem to be in sync in GTA3 (despite me having a ping of 8ms).
-
And don't forget that your 32MB integrated graphics takes 32MB out of your system memory (which you don't have much of anyway). If you want a cheap way of improving performance, I'd suggest getting more RAM.
-
Yeah, I'm sure they'd do it if it was technically feasible. They have actually registered the domain: http://www.mtasa.com/
-
Well, it could be the Celeron. Also, you didn't say how much RAM you had, or whether it was a high or low-end FX card. Your internet connection doesn't seem to be crippling you (unless you have a really low upload rate - you're not using satellite, are you?). It could also be due to a peering problem with your ISP, which can be determined by trying out other servers.
-
Do you have a REALLY slow PC and/or internet connection?
-
I don't think the first one is impossible. Btw, hitting someone with a car in VC does damage them, only I think there's a syncing problem whereby their health bar doesn't go down.
-
You could try using the Ammunation at 8-ball's. The n00bs only seem to know about the one in the centre of town. Or just use the weapon pickups as I do.
-
I think the point trx was trying to make was that if the weapons were balanced, there would be an equal number of people playing with each, rather than a majority using just one weapon.
-
Yeah, you should remove the colt pickups as well. I mean, you spawn with a colt, so you don't need to pick one up, and if you fired enough bullets to run out, you'd most likely have killed someone by that time (or been killed), thereby not needing any more ammo for it.... if that makes sense.
-
Yeah, why is that? I can play MTA on a LAN for ages and I have never ever crashed.
-
Wasn't it in the game modes thread anyway? That's where I saw it. And weren't you a developer a couple of days ago and now you're not? Does that mean it's pretty unlikely to ever be included in MTA?
-
Is it even possible to include Punkbuster with MTAMA? I think that's probably just the name he used (or the name of the bot).
-
Wow - you've certainly done some balancing since I saw the idea last (or maybe it's just that you gave more details this time). It's great that all of this stuff will be possible in a future version of MTA (hopefully the next one *fingers crossed*).
-
I think if there were more GTA3 servers, there wouldn't be a problem. No-one is ever going to reach an agreement as to whether it's good or bad, so if there were more servers, people would have the choice as to whether to join a server that allows car killing or join one that doesn't. Also, it'd be good to get the bug fixed where it reports the wrong player killing someone, because then admins could use scripts to kick carkillers should they wish to.
-
Well... they may technically have an advantage, but I wouldn't class it as cheating as they don't deliberately have a slow computer in order to have an advantage in MTA.
-
No, it's not beta. The final release is complete, but they're staggering it across IP ranges so as not to overload their servers. I have had no major problems using SP2 on either of my computers, although one of them has the colours missing on the client like Posty said, although strangely the other one is fine. One thing I'd like to know is if people are having problems with MTA, SP2 and Athlon 64's due to the NX (no execute) support that the A64's have.
-
No, don't look for "internal IP". Look for "gateway" or "gateway device". That's the IP address of the router. When you get into the setup page, you want to forward all UDP data arriving at the router on port 2003 (or whichever port you plan to use for MTA), and set it to forward it to your machine's local IP address.

Yeah, but they could have been using the ASE one for that. -

Are there plans in the future to have a public master? That would help projects such as MTAServers and it would mean that it's easy to add MTA support to server browsing apps, as not everyone likes ASE.
