  1. Yeah, but that means less chance of actually hitting them if they haven't fallen exactly where you think they have. Anyways, I don't think there's any doubt that the chromey is substantially less powerful than any other shotgun. Even with it's longer range, it still fails to help you wade through a crowd in a DM war.
  2. "If you do a 360 to the left, it's called an 'inward' 360" Hmmmm, not quite. An inward corkscrew is one where you spin towards the direction you hit the launch surface (eg you're coming from the right and then spin rightwards) and an outward one is the opposite. You can be coming from either way and do one or the other depending on what you want. BTW "first make speed" should be "first pick up some speed", but whatever . Anyway, nice job with the vid. Such productions are really helpful for many ppl new to stunting .
  3. Ppl have a right to run whenever and to wherever they damn well please. Stop being such fuc, king fascists please. w0rd to whomever said "you don't have to kill everyone you shoot once at you know" (mighta been Bump)
  4. Yes, similar suggestions as well as this particular one have been made before (many times too probly) and no, Capture The Whoopee/Faggio/whatever and Tag are miles apart.
  5. Why ban retards? We need you for our amusement.
  6. Excuse me? In case you forgot, a cop's only chance to regain his armour level, is to go back to WBPD, or be lucky enough to find a deserted VCPD van somewhere and not have entered it before during that lifetime... In other words, good luck. Personally, I never considered the issue of roles and classes something to take seriously since there's no solid gameplay built around it yet. I always pick VCP and never kill my own, but that's where my courtesy ends for anyone and everyone. Besides, one can start with any character and end with a completely different arsenal within a few minutes if they know what they want and where to look for it, so assuming they're alive for more than a few mins after spawing, I always approach ppl expecting the worst. If there's an issue of unfairness in the fighting world of VC (both SP and MTA) - and I think there is - that IMO lies in the nature of the weaps themselves; the stubby per se. Coming from a mostly RTS gaming past, I immediately noticed how the stubby (and thus the robber) was heavily overused because it simply is an overpowered weapon compared to everything else in ranges between close and mid-far distance; it was really easy to spot it when you've come to expect and look for unbalances in games. I just didn't expect anything THAT obvious. Its power per blast is amazing and since it can leave ppl vulnerale to another hit by knocking them down and there's the jumping glitch to exploit as well, there's really no substitute for it in a fight. It simply shouldn't be that good IMO. You'd either have to make the pellets less effective than the chromey's, or reduce the projectiles to 4, or make its range even shorter or something else to that aim cause as it is the tradeoff concept is simply not there; a single shot at the back can kill a cop @ full armour. The way it is now, stubbies are a no-brainer; dozens of gang members (and others) using it almost constantly attest to that. Anyway, that's my rant and I'm sticking to it. Sorry for the long post. Again.
  7. I thought this was gonna be about some avatar/sig max size suggestion or something, but since it's not, I might as well ask this. Has an upper size limit for those things ever been considered, like 150KB biggest avatar and 450KB biggest sig? The way things are now, it would help some the ppl on dialup and speed things up for everyone else as well.
  8. Well the rule was you couldn't use the taxi's booster (only the Voodoo has hydraulics) back when it was all one unified competition, so I wrongly assumed that still stood. And I meant height.
  9. I don't think you can. Otherwise, I'd have submitted my 120 footer a long time now .
  10. Yup, that's pretty much CTF's description "ported" to MTA . Just adding: - Helis can be locked to avoid ppl using them (when that feature will be available), or just be out of the CTF car setup completely. - Bases could use the character-stand-in pink coronas (or rings or whatever you call them). An attaker that isn't carrying a stolen briefcase would not see the highlighted area until the case would get returned. - I'm wondering what kinda cars would be allowed for CTF. Almost anything? Sports cars and bikes only? Just ONE car with multiple spawns for as many players as each team has and a few other designated places in the middle of the map (Starfish Isle probly)? I'm leaning towards that last suggestion: say 6 red and 6 blue PCJ's @ each base (for a 6vs6 obviously) and maybe a few more on the isle, or the bridges leading to it from each side. Or mayb center has slower or different cars. Yeah, yeah it's all daydreaming now, but a guy can hope, can't he?
  11. I'd love to watch and comment on your video - and everyone else's for that matter, but the thing is I'm on Easter vacation @ my family's summer house on an isle in the Aegean (yeah, yeah I know ) so I'm on an old PC with dialup now - and kinda crappy at that too (45.2Kbps!). As far as stunt vids go, TGA's been mighty unfriendly to me lately and hasn't let me complete a single download in the past week, which (unfortunately for me) has been very rich in releases! It's unbelievable how many times my d/l's were randomly and for no reason truncated to worthless incomplete zip files and I had to start over. I have spent more than 300megs of BW (and time) in total attempting to get one vid or another, I have tried 2 different accelerators as well and quite frankly I've decided it's not worth the trouble and frustration anymore; I consider myself to be a very persistant person, but this is where even I draw the line. Sorry for the rant, but I just had to let it out. Anyway, until I get back home to my own comp and DSL con on Sunday, I'll just be doing stuff like posting a bit and surfing around instead. I still am very eager to see everyone's work of course and when I do, I'll post my opinion like others have. BTW, if anyone knows of any d/l accelerator/prog that works with TGA, plz tell me about it. Thx. PS: Ok Benji, I didn't think it'd bother you that much. I apologize both for mine and NosGoth's comments. I just didn't find your thread funny, that's all (BTW nothin to do with your english either - I'd never make fun of somebody trying to speak a foreign tongue).
  12. The problem with remote nades - if I remember correctly - is you can't switch weaps or use anything else until you trigger them, so if you'd really want to use them for your benefit in a TDM, you'd have to waste a few members just to detonate the bombs at some choke point, which during all that time would be defenseless. Given that lag (of different ppl and generally) can play a number on such a setup as it is, if the battle isn't even in a somewhat enclosed place you could rig properly like the drug factory or the pr0n studio for instance, it becomes a really moot issue whether remotes will change gang wars and MTA gameplay at all. They'd be good for a few laughs and as a fancy new way to kill ppl, but after a couple o' days nobody would consider them seriously. 2 eurocents down the slot... Edit: Forgot to say, personally I'm not against the inclusion of any weap in MTA; everything should reach a point where it'd work and would be available at will. What you'd decide to play with after that, would be another story. I (want to) believe that's a commonsense stance.
  13. Rofl, okay Benji, although it might not be as good as yours:
  14. Why do people find this funny again? Cause I'm getting the impression that Benji's brain was successfully removed prior to the creation of this thread...
  15. Hehey, it's malakai! Where've you been all this time? And I see you're still a weirdo and obsessed with Bruce Lee, eh? Seriously though, your 900KB avvy's deadly for ppl on dialup. Switch to something smaller dude.
  16. *Yawn Right-click My Comp -> Properties -> Advanced -> Error Reporting -> "Disable Error Reporting"... BTW, Danger Will Robinson, this thread is drifting way off topic! Delete posts as necessary. Edit: Rehost your avatar somewhere else too. Red x's are so last year .
  17. Lol, they're in meters and I don't think Bloody noticed it back when he wrote them, like I did. Of course I didn't tell him, cause I found it funny . Anyway, if you wanna know how many feet they are, you'll just have to multiply them by 3.28.
  18. A robber could easily kill the char Snow suggested; hell, even a cop could. Nuff said I think...
  19. Gj reminding us of that 1 (y): Would it be possible to enable the stunt stats reporting in DM mode as well? This would be just for the sake of knowing if a random stunt we pulled while idling around or just trying something else was any good or not. I mean I know stunt mode was introduced for that reason, but I don't think it would undermine it since that's a whole other deal and appeals to ppl for a different set of reasons with the ramps and its car spawn setup and the strip girls and the drunk pills and and and... you get the point. Hopefully it shouldn't be a big enough hassle to miss the next MTA:VC version and it'd really make us happy .
  20. I don't remember if killing ppl with the Dodo's propeller while roaming the streets was possible, but I'd probly say you can't do it if I had to guess - it behaved like a car, running peds over. Anyway yeah flying it isn't really as hard as some ppl here are makin it out to be. Just keep trying it and read some comprehensive FAQ like that gamefaqs.com one (I've read that myself, very helpful) and you should nail it withing a few hours. My personal was around 10-15 mins flyin time (then I musta got bored I think) and that isn't considered even remotely a long time, so the deal with that winged thing of beauty () is really about what you can do with it, i.e. stunting. Sommersaulting around bridges was my thing too, although I rarely completed a full circle mainly cause of winds or simply lack of skill (probly the first ). Barrel rolls, twist stalling, upside down flying, dodging buildings sidewards and other stuff is what ppl should be doing/filming with fraps IMO. You know, maybe we should make a contest for the best Exclusive Dodo stunt video. How's that sound?
  21. They spend most their time supporting this mod, you spend yours undermining it; so sorry if I can't tell the diffrence there in who has more of a life. BTW Driver, at least AFAIK and ULK is concerned (dunno the KFCs that much) I can tell you this: you wouldn't be talking through your ass (well not that much anyway) if you'd been here a few months earlier to know who they really are, where they're coming from and what they had done compared to everyone else playing MTA even half seriously, so just do us all a favour here and stfu plz. Anyway from a "post your cheaters", this has turned into a "parade your stupidity" thread, I'm out... Edit: Meh, a few posts added so just check the last page to see what I'm talking about . PS: Isn't it "sphincter says what"?
  22. There are a couple of wacky things you can do with a chopper that could pass as stunts and yeah flipping around (only possile with VCNs and Mavs) would be one of them I guess. Plus as already mentioned, helis can also be used as means to pull off other kinds of tricks with bikes or whatnot and those can be cool too, like gettin one right outside and below the offices window and pausing to let others with bikes or heavy cars fall on it trying to get some rotation or something, or just simply climbing on them and flying like that old pic of the day with the mex on the Hunter for those that remember it - imagination is your only limit. Finally let's not forget their transportational role, since getting around even in the stunt serv is much easier with a chopper (either above or below ground ). Point is I'd hate to see ppl starting blaming them just because in the hands of the lame they can turn into a real nuisance. IMO it's a personal responsibility issue like much else in MTA - not excluding cars. And on the swooping in spawn wars part, all I can say is really what I've experienced for myself, which is this: Usually in fights between seasoned players, if someone rushes in with a heli, blades first, ppl will prioritize the surrouding threats, so 4-5 guys shooting m60s or stubbies vs. a Mav usually makes for a pretty short stand out. If the pilot isn't a friend playing around, pulling the occational joke with everyone else, but an annoying lil prick that keeps coming again and again, that guy's life expectancy once he hits the ground (assuming he got away from the burning chopper) won't be more than 10 secs. Then ppl will be happy to return to their usual killing n' dying routine they all like. So IMO heli killing is a problem that pretty much takes care of itself... That's my story and I'm sticking to it . (/rant)
  23. He was just pointing out that viewing replays in MTA fux it up for you cause you get desynced, he didn't say you were using replays. BTW, you owe me an epileptic seizure, or you weren't trying hard enough - dunno which...
  24. Rofl. I'd heard about the cement shoes guy dunked into the drink somewhere under the seas of Vice, but for all my underwater heli searchin, I could never find him :\. So if I'm reading your radar right, it's somewhere to the west of LL then? And yeah KFG, that's how you'd pull a teleport off. That's why I was sayin the car has to be stationary. In most ppl's case when this happens, it's by accident and it's because two players will get in the same car with a 1-2 sec time difference; lag does the rest. PS: Yeah Ransom, nice shoes. Really .
