If memory serves me right, your "spectacular" GTAWO PCJ corkscrew gif was 1.4 megs large. I've cursed you many times mad boy... j/k

Quite frankly I found both videos very average at best and definitely not up to par to the production values we'd been used to and had seen so far. Because of that many ppl might've been let down and may not be expecting much from this scene until this gets reversed. Dunno, maybe this whole "new turn" to themed videos is just a bad idea, since usually it just boils down to prolonged dull dialogues, a loosely connected, minimally thought out plot and boring half-decent stunting thrown in as a bad excuse for the much needed part of action. A few thoughts on this scene follow: IMO when you're thinking about making a themed video you should never forget that it's still a movie and as such, there needs to be some action in it. No one's gonna think "oh great now I can sit back, relax and enjoy a good 15 minutes of written dialogue and fancy skins showcasting!". It is not a soap opera or drama ffs, so I don't see why the action has to be so screwed over in these kind of productions. "It's not a stunt movie!" is not an excuse and if you can't be bothered to make a vid right, no one's forcing you to do it. Even more so, you're expected to at least come up with a cohesive plot for your movie. Best way to ensure that would be to put yourselves in the viewers' shoes and not assume they'll know anything about the situations, the characters or the facts of your movie before they see it for the first time. Check that what you're showing them seems logical, might be possible in real life, but above all else that it happens for some reason (hopefully important enough to call for it). I'm not mentioning all of the above because they all have to do with some particular movie, but more as pointers and advice I believe to be right. So to all aspiring movie makers out there, I am asking you to plz just consider them from now on. Now, on to this thread's subject: I haven't seen volume 1 and I hoped it wouldn't matter very much. Now I was either terribly mistaken, or you definitely needed some Star Wars-like intro text or something to fill ppl in, because honestly that tough to make out yellow text didn't help me understand why everything happened the way it did. This is what I got out of it: - This guy wants to get revenge at some1, but goes out on the street killing a bunch of ppl? Then he ends up shot and hospitalized for no reason. - His wife (runnin around the city in yellow tights and a katana in hand) doesn't go to see him, but goes to the beach to talk to some random chick that knows all about the mark, but not that her husband was hurt? And why does she need to prove she can stunt? Then she goes on to kill fatso cause he "betrayed" her husband and I've got no idea what that's all about . - Either way, you follow that with about a dozen half-good stunts which easily eat up 2-3 mins of movie time and then instead of her going back to get the info she wanted after "having proven" she can stunt to that beach chick, she goes to the docks to meet her husband? How's that happen? She didn't even see him @ the hosp, but they already arranged to meet? Or does that happen like months later? - Then you got some real l33t walking footage for about half a min, the wife gets shot at, but decides to drown herself for good measure instead. The miraculously healed guy now goes to the docks too (after they arranged the meeting psychicly), we enjoy another 30 secs of pristine walking/running, he knows exactly where to look for his wife (whom he can't find) and finally gets shot by the same dude that's probly 20ft away from him. End of story, to be continued. After all that, the vid isn't over, but you take 2 more mins showing kinda blooper-ish captures just to tell ppl you did all the acting, stunting, editing (in a word producing), what the 4 songs were - quite good, but overall unnoticed cause of all the reading - and to give thx, which coulda been done in like 20-30 secs of continuous scrolling text. Dunno, maybe I'm just being a picky Nancy about this, but for the life of me I don't see why Mad boy there is so excited, especially after having to let my 56k modem download a whole night (that's right ppl, seven bleedin hours) to get to see this. Hope vol. 3 is better...

FYI curly your avatar and sig's total size is 630KBs. To a 56ker connected at max bandwidth and downloading at max realistic speed (5KB/s), that's 2 minutes and 6 seconds of waiting just to see your epileptic seizure inducing perception of sexy stylistic expression. You probly don't care about them though, but here's a wild guess: they don't care about "your status" and method of "becoming known" either. No personal offense though: just hope you see my point.

+ = LMAO K, sorry for the spam .

Yeah, but she already suggested a limited stack of ammo and a kind of difficult way to earn them. Dunno, once the syncin's been done, this could be one "right" way to have 'em. Like 5 straight kills without dying could give ya 5 pairs of rockets and 50 minigun rounds you could keep even after dying until you disconnected from the serv or something like that. It's really a case of syncin it in and finding a way to limit onboard weaps after that, so just write this one down as a future thought I guess.
-
Expanding the circle of trust even slightly had been suggested to the Official serv's admins ever since late last December, but I guess they just like things the way they are now... Pity cause many of us had some good times there in the past .

It's also on sale in one of the tool shops. Don't rightly remember anymore, but my best guess would be the one just west of LHPD and the bagel shop on the west island.

If you can go past the character selection part, start to play normally and then it freezes, it's just a case of something gone wrong with the hacking MTA does to VC and it happens to everyone frequently; just press space once or twice to get rid of the Dr. Watson and windows error windows that lie "behind" VC. Then you'll be back at your desktop and you can hit start game in your still running MTA client. Usually you can tell if that is the case from a system sound played when the error occurs. If it freezes before and you can never make it into the game, then you got another kind of problem, in which case you should make sure you've selected the right version (1.0 or 1.1) before firing up VC from the client as suggested and that you're not trying to play MTA in win98, cause it's not working right with that OS. If that didn't help, plz describe in more detail what your problem is.

To me it's not the colours, or links, or even small to medium-sized banners. Having a slow con, the most frustrating thing for ppl like me is waiting for those >400KB sigs and avies to load for the page to be done. Usually they get cached to the HDD, but every now and then they have to be redownloaded and when that happens you have to wait like 10 mins if there happens to be more than a few of them in some page you're viewing. I mean some ppl have gone completely overboard with showing off pretty useless or indifferent stuff or whatever they got and frankly I couldn't care less if they got a permission from the admins or their god himself to use them; that's just not what a message board is for. There are even ppl with pics or gifs greater than a meg in size here FFS. Isn't it high time they changed them to something smaller and static? I'd come to the point of hopping that an admin would look into this soon, but sadly no1's cared for at least 1-2 months now. Bah, enough with this :@.

Give them a better n' faster client-side comm protocol or quit yer bitchin'.

So wait a sec here: you mean that while I see my character loading hence NOT shooting at that time, MTA keeps generating shooting packages, or what? I mean where do these rounds come from if I'm not shooting? And what if I decide to not fire after I reload? If MTA keeps telling others I'm still firing, when will it decide to stop that? Edit: And like I said before, I've seen ppl reload in very many occations. I've had millions of shotty fights, where ppl naturally reload after every shot, I've come up against mexes with magnums - those reload after each shot too. Hell, I've even had some ret, arded Tec9, or Ingram fights with others running around and shooting and even then I've seen them reload after they wasted their 30 or so rounds clip. I don't really remember seeing ppl reload MP4's or Kruegers cause those aren't the most popular weaps in the game, but I think I've seen ppl stop shooting with them briefly and then start again, so I bet they were changing clips then as well. So the Q is, if reloading isn't synced, why have I seen it happen so many times? Was I dreaming?
-
Well I think this isn't the first time this issue's been brought up. You think you sure you could fix it, or get some1 to do it ? I mean, c'mon that text's been misleadin ppl for what? 2 months now?
-
Which reminds me: what happened to that good ole' official 12 player 0.2.2 serv you guys maintained back then (I think it was TX #2 - could be wrong)? I mean why did it change its max player stat in 0.3? To compensate for the heavier traffic load introduced by 0.3's clients or something? Anyway, I remember havin a good time n' experience even with my modem on that one around 350ms and that is more than ok for connecting to a US serv with greek dialup . So you plannin to restore that one to 12 player status again? Why is it bumped up to only 10 now (no pun intended)?

A guid to get rid of the REPLAY in the corner of the screen. Rebel's post there goes for you too.

^ And then we'd download a nice small 700meg smc file or something and get playing again eh? What a brilliant idea! Also, No one said you'd just plug it in and it would work like that. I said compatible, as in able to work with some modification or other. And besides the change from from VC to SA won't necessarily be as big as that GTA3 to VC. You might get a break, who knows? -
Well you got "pwned" and "n00bz" in your sig, but yeah I see what you're sayin. Like I said, that part of your sig is incorrect.

You know what would be even more wicked? For R* North to never agree on another exclusivity clause contract again after SA. And about any new features, I bet they'll come up with a few VC shelved or such novelties as an excuse for creating a "new" game; some will be hot, but most will just be lukewarm... Maybe it's just me, but somehow I'm not all that excited about hearing of a new GTA title coming out this time around

Lol the day they release it for the PS2, they'll start working on the PC port if not earlier; gaming industry isn't playing around when it comes to cash. It'll just be a month or two before they say anything about it to keep Sony's crowd happy for a while and milk as much out of the console vers as they can. Like always the PC port will be a bit better. BTW some1 said "wow they're pumpin them out every year!". As Bump noted in some other thread, the deal was with Sony for three GTA games with the same engine exclusive to the PS2 (at first), so I'm guessing they rushed this one out even sooner cause they wanted to be over with it. I'll bet the coders will have grown sick of it and will never want to see it again after this; I know I would. PS: BTW I wouldn't bet on MP for this one either... Edit: PPS: My money's on that MTA will be compatible with GTA:SA right off the bat ! I mean we are talking about the same game internally, ain't we? -
Lol the blowing up is just the movie part and that itself is just 5-6 normal explosions with different offsets and a quick lookout change. Dynamic FX and particles my azz .
-
Fuxed up copied cd? Cracked downloaded version? Old virtual cd drive software & cd image? IMO either your installer is fubared, or something went wrong in the temp folder transfer so you could try deleting the right subdir before giving it another go. Did you ever setup VC from that disk successfully before? Does is work on another pc now? K, I'm done playing detective .
-
I don't really think it's a "syncing" issue cause reloading is handled locally like most things in MTA, so unless some1's hacking Vice (and probly the client as well), they should change clips just like in SP. Even if the animation is missing, ppl will stop firing every so often. What I've seen ingame also verifies this. Others seem to pause n' reload their SPAS every 5 or so shots and same goes for most other weaps as well. So I'd guess yeah, there's no prob there. Maybe you're just a cheat magnet; ever think of that ?
-
Lol which cooky part of it you're talking about, the pics, or the (incorrect) text part in the end?
