  2. We're currenty finding a way to get rid of some of the camping. Most likely we will use a system that looks for a ped-node near a random given point in the desired spawn-area. This would make it nearly impossible to predict the spawning coords of another player.
  3. There we have it. A server that's crashing will not be the reason for your Windows installation to malfunction. PC's have a reset button too. No wonder you want MTA for the XBox. I'm very fed up with this. It's simply NOT going to happen. Good Luck, pal. ** LOCKED **

  5. You guys should keep in mind that you are the actual betatesters when it comes to gameplay / balancing. I collect all the information about what people think, then we will try and make the game so that it suits everybody fine. I think by introducing the specialties like armor for cops and health regeneration, there is more variety to the classes. I agree that the game is not balanced as it is now, but rest assured that we do not ignore the input we are getting from this forum. It's not easy to find a proper balance. People want the uber guns like the M-60 to stay in the game, and it's very hard to balance that weapon against the other ones. The same goes for the Ruger vs the M-4, the difference is too much, and we may end up modifying the weapons damage/rate/range, to create the right set of weapons for this mod. You should also know that we're just happy we got the thing working, and balance was never a priority yet.

  9. Press 'Send Game Request' button. If it doesn't help, restart applications and try again. Though MTA0.3b isn't really worth playing if you have Vice City and MTA:VC 0.2.2
  10. It was already there before, we just dont know the reason it got taken out. The reason we took it out was because there is a limit to locations we can check for. In 0.1 the Love Fist Stage and Studio were accesible, but I had forgotten to include the entry points for one of the entrances for the Baron's Mansion, and also one for North Point Mall. We had to choose which ones to use, so we went for the functional ones instead of the pretty ones. I don't think the Stage and Studio locations will be included in the next releases.

    Yea it's totally gay. Computers should stop being gay. You do not have the folder options set to display (known) file extentions. (the .exe) Try looking for the file 'gta-vc' instead, it will have a pink icon with a lady on it. Another solution would be to buy a straight computer, I don't think gay computers like MTA much.

  13. Yes, and also, there IS Teargas in GTA Vice City PC. It just can't be used, since it will lag the hell out of your computer.
  14. We will try to make something for everyone. The idea was to implement everything into one big city, but this may seem a bit hard to realise with so many kiddies pretty much ruining it for everyone else on the server. Therefore it might be an idea to split things up like we've done with the stunt scm, which is a pity imo. FFA on public servers, RP/G on private servers.
  15. These flames aren't 'real' and will not set you onfire or make a sound. The actual fire we used before was giving problems (apparently). We may add the sounds for this fire later on, but it's just a detail.
  16. You can't compare MTA0.3b with MTA:VC0.2 or even with MTA:VC0.1. It's totally different. MTA0.4 will therefore be the equal to MTA:VC0.2.2 for as much as the game allows us. (GTA3 has lower limits than Vice City has regarding to amount of object on the map, and size of the mta.scm)
  17. SWAT will make it back into 0.3 Haven't found a way to set the Army skin yet, probably impossible.

  19. For 0.3, the Character selection has been rewritten. You will then still be able to scroll left and right for different occupations, but also up and down, to select different skins belonging to the occupation group. So no more randomization for the skins, which should eliminate some confusion. Also, we plan on implementing more skins, which will also contain a group of female charaters.
  20. Adding the models from the Liberty City map to the Vice City map, will result in the use of dozens of extra models, excluding the parked cars and the actors which we use already. I believe it will cause dramatic performance issues, and would make MTA only playable on high-end systems. Also, it is not tested if they can even add that amount of models due to modelnumber restriction in the Vice City graphics engine. I guess the only option would be to use the LC models in the VC engine is if you remove the Vice City models first. Or 'simply' create MTA for GTA3, without bikes and copters.
  21. The actors will not throw the molotovs and grenades the same distance you do. They will in fact always throw them at the same distance away, which is nearly enough not to get hit by it themself. So there is no point in throwing the things miles away.
  22. I haven't experimented with GTA and joysticks much, I only tried to dodo with an analogue stick once. Maybe it helps to re-assign the keys, because you should know that the left and right arrow keys do not rotate the player left and right, but make the player strafe left and right. So define two joystick buttons for strafing.

    Map colors

    Allow me to sort out this mistake. The current version of MTA0.2, does not always set the correct skins/radarcolors for the players, but it should look like this: Mexicans - Pink Sailors - Green Robbers - Darkred Cops - Blue Vice City Crusader - Yellow Vice City Racer - Lightblue You will have noticed that people whose skins are not correctly set also have the yellow dot. This is the default color, and since we dont have many colors to choose from we decided to let the VCC have a yellow dot as well, since it easily noticable on the radar, and we didnt expect as much problems as there apparently are. At this point, when you're just in a game and its full of yellow dots, its safe to assume those players have not had their skin set correctly.
