I was pointing to the fact that gmail was launched on april first, 2004, and if you read the text below that image on the gmail page you will find a link to what really is new. By the end of the day Gmail will offer 2GB of storage and text mark up for emails.

We have decided to stop with MTA and we are concentrating on a new project. The reason for this switch is the fact that the GTA games are too limiting to provide a basic platform for multiplayer gameplay. Therefore we have decided to start from scratch and build a game of our own. The working title for this project is “DownTown”. It will be a multiplayer based game in the line of MTA/GTA. Not much information is known at this moment about gameplay since we have just started development but we are aiming for maps with support for 128 players and support for pedestrians. The game will feature 5 cities (Brussels, Cape Town, Rio, Toronto, and Tokyo). Of course we need to expand our team and we are looking for skilled modellers and mappers. Interested? Mail us at [email protected] . Why April first? We know it’s a bad day and maybe we should have waited one more. We have been planning it for weeks now but we were unable to announce it due to talks with sponsors. That silence ended with the end of March and the first following day is today. We can not yet disclose what 3D engine we are using but the game will be OpenGL/OpenAL based and will be built for both Windows and Linux. Putting a release date on the project so early is almost impossible but we are aiming for a public beta by the end of 2007 and a release somewhere mid 2008. The first art for the game will follow in a couple of days/weeks.

don't use compatibility mode. And upgrading to SP2 is a good thing, i have never had any problems with it.

You appear to be using an outdated version of acrobat reader (i think version 4?) The latest version is 7 and I think our PDFs were made with/for version 6. Version 7 is a big heavy download with a lot of new features, if you think you don't need it try to find a download of number 6.

you get a referrer when someone is on that site and visits your site next.

You finally have your brand new dedicated server, you upload the MTA server with ftp, you configure your config file and start the server. But then : disaster. When you close your ssh connection the server drops dead. Well, at least you have gotten this far. Congratulations. The server closes when you close your session because the server is running on your current terminal. When your session closes the terminal closes and terminates the server. There are 2 ways to get passed this problem. Starting the server in background mode Most command line programs have a small build-in help system that allows you to see options. You can see these by using the -? swith. For MTA that would be ./MTAServer -? The output will look like: We need to run our server in the background so: There we go, our server is running in the background. But what if we need to stop it? Well, we would first need to find the process ID number, after that we use the kill command to stop it: There we go, up to method number 2 Using screen A remote linux terminal supports multiple vitual screens. This to stop the user from creating multiple sessions. This is done by the "screen" command. For more information : man screen We first need to start a virtual screen, therefore we type in "screen". At first glance it will look like the screen has just cleared. But it has not. Now you can start the server and close the terminal. When you come back and log in again you can see that the server is still running on a different terminal: with the command screen -r you can bring back your server and look at the output:

Welcome to our support section. Before you ask a question, please make sure you have done the following: - Check the Known Issues thread. This thread contains the most common problems with MTA. - Use the Search function. Please make sure that you include all relevant data, such as: - detailed information about the error - a description of what is visually shown on screen - any error noises you may hear (dings, etc) - maybe a screenshot if possible - how often the error occurs - your system specs (including operating system) - which version of the game and executable you are running - your location Please note that : - extensive text markup like CAPS, big letters, or colors are not appreciated. - if you ask a question that has been asked/answered many times before that your post will get trashed! - We appreciate it if your topic title tells people what is inside, to help get your problem solved and to help those in the future with the same problem.

Good one Happy Easter to you all

no, it requires both hard and software

DEP only works if you got an AMD64 or a intel proc with NX (only recent ones have it with the new numbering, you can find it out with a CPU identifier tool or by searching for the letter J on the package.

Indeed, read the error msg before you start complaining. It has nothing to do with MTA. I use XP SP2 and have never run into any big problems. And after you have found the error discription you need to go to the microsoft knowledge database

Development of Blue started in october 2003 or about 1,5 years ago. The initial use of Blue was not to become a new mod but it was more intended like a test container where we would be able to test new things in (starting with an ingame menu system). After a couple of months it became clear the the improved structure of Blue was better to build the mod on and we decided that we were gonna develop Blue as the next core for MTA. Since then we have been messing with it. We have had times where Blue was playable and then there are times like last month when Blue is a total mess and there is no working netcode or no working interface with GTA and stuff. We also kept developing on the old stuff. 0.3 was the first version we released after we started on Blue if I am not mistaking. And we have kept on developing from 0.3 as well. We kept Blue a secret for a long time because we did not know what would become of it. If it would reach our expectations. We did not even know in the beginning what exactly we wanted to do with it. Blue has delayed development on the current versions and vice versa. At this moment we are picking up the pase on Blue again because we need a release before SA. We need to know how stable it is an what issues there are so we can fix them in time and only work on SA compatibility when SA comes out on PC. Vice is old and GTA3 even older. We know that and we know that a lot of people are going away. Especially because we don't have any real gamemodes (mta:ma scripts not withstanding). We still have the basic gameplay we have for almost 2 years now. And one more thing : there is no Blue for SA, it will have another name

I was working on my computer and all of a suddon it freezes (go figure). I think : no problem, it's just windows being a bitch. I press reset and the damn thing starts beeping like mad and the screen stays black. I try some stuff, nothing works. I think : no big deal, i'll take the other system. Boot it up, into linux and all of a suddon my screen goes black. I press reset system boots fine but starts complaining that there is no power cable attached to the VGA card. So i open it up, have a look inside and just at the moment i'm looking at my VGA card i see white smoke coming out of the PSU. I was like : SHIT !!! . So now i have 2 systems down, only a laptop remaining. So i go online with the laptop, but i coudn't stand it so i started messing with the first system and got it booting after resetting the BIOS.

IPv4 will remain active for about 25 more years if i'm not mistaking. offcourse v6 has some benefits but there is no rush to make things compatible.

If you go inside the subway and off the island there is a chance that everyone else but you in that server crashes. It does not always happen. Therefore we urge people not to use them as they will be closed in the next version anyway.
