UFO : Unidentified Flying Object. This can be any object that has not idintified itself. could be a rocket, meteor. But if an airplane enters a new airspace and doesn't have a transponder then that is also seen as a UFO by the controller. There are many UFO's every day, but aliens ??? i doubt that.

Due to the increasing number of WIPs on this board that die before they are far from completed, we ask that from now on only modifications that are available to the public are allowed in this section. Each project that wants to be listed in this forum: - should have at least 1 public released version available for download. Work in progress or team gathering topics are no longer allowed. - can only have 1 topic. Any new topics will be closed down and deleted. - has to start it's topic title with [MOD] All existing topics that fall outside these rules will be closed down and deleted from this board. Exceptions can be made for projects that belong to teams that have shown their dedication in the past (such as gtaT or SA-MP).

- it can be brute forced (but a password of some decent length (+8 chars) 1000ths of years on a normal pc) - you can compare it to a rainbow table. But those tables are large and take a long time to generate. - you can search for a collision, but this is actually the same as brute forcing. -

VC-MP uses less, they have a proximity system to reduce bandwith. Something that has never been implemented in the current releases of MTA. So unless everyone is in the same spot VC-MP uses less bandwith.

If you rent a dedicated server, you get full acces to that server, including root If you rent a dedicated game server, you may get ssh acces, but not root If you rent a shell account, you will get ssh access but not root If you rent web space you will not get ssh access The best way to keep an MTA server alive is by writing a script that checks if the server is running or not and if it is not restart it. This script should be runnable from normal user and be placed as a cron job that runs every 5 or 10 minutes.

Let me tell you something. At this moment there are about 10 MP mods in development for SA. In the end only 3 or maybe 4 will actually release something stable and playable. We have seen it for GTA3 and for VC. There have been only 3 playable mods for GTA3 while i can think of more then 10 teams who developed such a mod. The same for VC. Most of the peple who start such a mod think : hey what they do is cool, i want to do it myself. And they start with no experience, with no goals and so on and after a couple of months they die. Mostly due to bad leadership and not enough decent coders. When you look at SA there are only 3 mods you should look at. MTA, SA-MP and gtaT. All the others have a high potential of failure. And why not merge those 3 teams? We have different goals, different ways of working things out. MTA is building an SDK with network capabilities, SA-MP is building an MP mod that is customizable and gtaT ... well draco has his unique way of doing things. An other difference is e.g. that gtaT gets coded in Delphi why MTA and SA-MP uses C++ so the coders of gtaT could never work on the other projects since they don't know the language. Also, all 3 teams are build out of experienced people. A merger between two of them would mean that we would have to remove some experienced people from the combined project. There is only so much room in 1 team. And what will those coders do that get removed? Leave the GTA community? That would be bad, start a new MP mod? then your goal of 1 mod is gone, ... . There have been 2 succesful mergers in the past. MTA with YaMM and SA-MP with GTA:C.

Two teams are better then one. The competitive nature of this keeps us working hard. Also one major team would mean we would have to remove decent programmers from both teams. And both teams have talanted programmers.

You just confessed you create hax. Therefore you are now banned

everyone is aware of the glitches and there is nothing we can or will do to it. 0.5 is outdated and the entire team is concentrating on the blue core and MTA:SA. do you really want us to stop that development to remove some glitches on something that is basicly 2 years old? btw any topic that has it's title in caps should be trashed imho

Gameplay update (17/08/2005 @ 01:09 CET) by Blokker_1999
Blokker_1999 replied to Blokker_1999's topic in News
my guess would be : new vehicle, new radio -
This is a small update for the people that do not follow our new Blog. First of, we have a small video displaying some of the things you can do with the races in MTA:SA. The race configuration file can now have Vehicle declarations at any point. What this means is that you can change vehicles midrace depending on how you set up your configuration file. The bugs aren′t completely worked out of it yet, such as a slight hang when vehicles are loaded ( this will be fixed by pre loading all the vehicles in the race config), and engine sound issues also the checkpoints pointing direction hasn′t been finalized yet. Link to the video We also have some screenshots from another test. Please note we are aware of the lack of an actor in the local vehicle after a race has started, and once the current refactoring is done, this will work fine.

My ping in MTA stays the same!!!!!!! >=(
Blokker_1999 replied to Noobi3's topic in General MTA discussion
You complain about a ping of 80-110? That is still a good ping and even a normal when you play on servers from another continent. There are people out there that have a lot worse ping (+500). -
Today it has been exactly 60 years since the United Stats dropped the first atomic bomb on Japan. At 08.15 local time little boy impacted on Hiroshima. At that time no one knew what the impact of such bomb would be. 70 000 people got killed during the blast. And in the following days that number doubled due to radiation and burn wounds. Hiroshima lost half of it's 350 000 inhabitants due to this bomb. the temperature climbed to +4000°C (+7200°F) and it had a radius of 4.5km (2.8 miles). Not many buildings were left standing. A lot of bodies vaporised. The bombs helped end the second world war. But at what cost. Most of the casualties were not military and even today there is a huge debate over the military role that Hiroshima and Nagasaki had during WWII. We must remember what has happened that day to make sure it will never happen again. There is no winner in a nuclear war.

Major news will still be posted here on the main site, but small updates can be found on the blog. You can find the blog at http://www.mtavc.com/blog or you can click the new link in the sidemenu.

mta and gtaf still aren't the best friends i guess. But the link was made for the community. Now they have to connect to only one server to be able to join all there gta related channels. -

We are still working to be the best. There's no doubt in that. But in the VC area we have dropped dead and Kyeman had the time to finish his mod. I beleive Blue will be better but it is impossible to make a comparison between blue and sa-mp at this moment. And i think it is not fair to compare sa-mp with vc-mp. After 2 years we lost a battlefield, but the war is still going on. You can not always be the best and you can not stay the best forever. And i think when something better is out there we should acknowledge that fact and take it as something to pick up the pase and to motivate us to do even better. -

i would like to ask to stop the flame wars. So you played the vc-mp beta and it was good. Fine for you guys. We have always known that someday there would be a mod that is better then us and that day has come. Let us hope that SA-MP and MTA:SA can form some decent competition for each other. And for the moment : have fun with VC-MP -
