The MTA net code is currently not build for 56k users
-
b != B you say it yourself, you are on 1mbps, so +900 is close to your max ppl need to learn the difference between bit and byte when reading of these values.
-
I have a MX900, works fine, no problems. There is only 1 file version of MTA distributed so no matter where you download it the result will be the same. If the download file is corrupted the download will not start.

the original name of the project was multi theft auto and it still is and it originally was for GTA3 only. Then we made mta:vc for GTA:VC and we regd that name as well, but these days it's just mta again ...

Mike has no halfop in our main channel (#mta) so if you have a problem with him, this isn't the correct place. Second he was half op, not admin there is a huge difference it's like calling the major of your town mister president. -
session timeout FAST
Blokker_1999 replied to DeathB's topic in Site/Forum/Discord/Mantis/Wiki related
The session time was reduced after a forum flood. The session table can only hold so much entries, once it's full the board can only be browsed but no one can login or post or anything like that. Therefore the session time was reduced. I upped it back to 10 minutes and later back to an hour but some days ago we had a new flood. I'll start increasing the value again. -

Internet Problem haveing MTA working offline in my network
Blokker_1999 replied to a topic in General MTA discussion
it should work that way but there is a small mistake in the code that makes it crash. It is already corrected for a next release. -
We say when it's over, not you. I haven't followed the previous topic but i know what it is about. And what are you trying to prove? nothing! all you do is start a flame war. This board has proper means to inform ppl that are interested in names of cheaters, i suggest the next time you use those to report it. Nothing more, nothing less.

have you rebooted since the install?
-
you got me there, but most admins don't even change it i guess.
-
A server does not cause a client to crash on connect
-
If we would see this as advertisement we would lock this and move it to the trash section where it would be deleted.
-
You won't find much info about it since the installer is brand new. Every release before this has been .tar.gz only . If i'm not mistaking the setup is even made on a debian machine.
-
sure? at end of the installation i just saw "registering ocx controls...".thanks for passing. everything just runs fine on my system (and also such things that normally won't install on server) but only this new version v0.5 of the mta client doesn't SHOW anything. (the process is runing.) EDIT: problem just solved. i have NEVER seen an app that won't run without access to the internet AT ALL. (even home phoning apps will run...) thanks for your time guys. The OCX is for the standalone server config tool. It is written in VB. MTA requires an active internet connection at this moment. It needs to download the welcome msg. Due to an error in the code the client errors out when it can not connect to our server. See known issues for temporary fixes.
-
That's not updated, that's downgraded
-
MTA is written in C++ it doesn't use OCX controls. I'll pass this msg on to the devs

FreeBSD compile only runs on 5.3 due to compile dependencies
Blokker_1999 replied to Killing's topic in General MTA:VC
Next server release. And no, it's not Blue, it's a patch for 0.5. The next release will be a new server version. This is to patch some stability issues and the major memory leak we are having. -
127.0.0.1 is also known as the loopback interface or lo . This IP adress is a way to communicate with a server running on your own system. It is a local ip adress. It would be like typing in the IP of one of your netwerk cards in that computer The greyed out on the client is the public IP. The IP you receive from your ISP. It is important to keep this IP hidden from other people to prevent attacks on your system. The more you are known the more chance you have people will attack you and MTA makes a fine target for some people.

We apologize for the problems we have caused and we hope we can fix it soon. We are working hard on searching the problem and we have found some errors already in the server, some things may be reletad to the leak but some things definatly are not. The big problem is that the client gets tested pretty well, but the server only gets limited testing. We will revise our testing procedures for servers next time.

we are searching for the problem. No ETA so far
