Although I really doubt it will help, you can manually set the path to your game in the mta.ini file which is located in your windows folder. You should have an entry like this: [game-exe] location=F:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\gta-vc.exe Where location is the full path to your gta-vc.exe Give it a shot, but I doubt it will help you at all. Sorry guys.

Hey guys, I wanted to say thank you for all of your kind words. How much work we have actually put into this version is often overshadowed by those whom are having problems, so it is great to see that atleast some of you are enjoying the game and actually taking the time to thank us. It makes it all worth while in the end and I hope you continue to have lots of fun!

Well, it will replace any files that 0.1 has installed, but uninstalling / reinstalling is not going to hurt anything and therefore is recommend (cleaner).

Our IRC Server is being attacked by flooders and therefore making it quite unusable during certain times of the day. No bans are against any person in particular and we are sorry for this disturbance. Please be patient and keep trying.
-
If we find that we need it when future versions are released, we will contact you. Thanks a lot for your offer, we really do appreciate it!

Heh, I have never heard of this error, but who the hell uses auto-aim? ... I really really doubt this will be implemented for 0.2. Hundreds of people are having fun playing 0.1, so I cannot wait to see 0.2 and what people think of that.

Looks good man ... keep it up and let us know when you have / hear something new.
-
Yes, there is an option (keyboard key) to turn them on / off at your leisure. So, if you feel they are distracting in a particular situation, just turn them off .. it's all good

Vasya Pupkin: Awesome work. Keep us posted on any future articles that you come across.

Hey guys, keep them coming. We are in the process of looking at all of the articles and trying to figure out more information about them, etc... etc... Thank you for all of your submissions and please, if you find any more information about anything, then let us know via the [email protected] email. Thanks again to all of you!

Long since fixed, no worries. Why why why are you doing this? If you wish to play on a LAN as well as the internet, just do so as the Server can support it. Do not make things more complicated for yourself. If within a LAN, connect to the LAN IP or "localhost" if you are running from the same machine. If the connection is outside of the LAN, connect to the real IP of your machine.

Great, can you also try to scan the newspaper article as well? Send both to [email protected] please.

You my friend are a useless tit.

We are in the test and fix phase of development, so it could be this week or it could be another couple of weeks. There is no way of really telling how long it will take to fix the majority of the bugs. Sorry guys, I wish I could give you a release date but we DO NOT know at this point.
-
Would you guys be able to please somehow scan in these images, whether it be on a friend's scanner or to use some publically available scanner (library?) and then email us these images. We would love to have copies of them.

Oh yes, what a lovely sound they are Seriously though, yes we have synced horns, sirens and the good ol whoopie jingle. Yeha!

about how much bigger will the client be for mta .2?
Cray replied to Evil_Shady's topic in General MTA:VC
Probably in the 15 - 20 KB area, but really it is anybodys guess. Why do you ask? -
Not possible right now ... if you want it go play single player.
-
Alright, fine, I guess I will answer the boats question Boats are possible, yes, but we still cannot guarantee whether or not they will be in 0.2. From our initial testing, we can support them and they do sync properly, but they are quite jerky. I am assuming they suffer the "back-wheel effect" that cars suffer from, but in this case it has to do with the water. As I said, I cannot say one way or another if they will be included in 0.2. Sorry guys, wish I could tell you more concrete information about them.

To quote the main news page: So, if you have any information regarding MTA in print, please send it to the aformentioned email address. Where you got it, when it was printed, etc... etc... would be amazing as we are trying to gather all of the resourses that we have had.
-
Great work ... hopefully IJs or Blokker will put this link up on the downloads page. Thanks for supporting us!

MTA:VC 0.1 works fine for 56k users as long as you don't play on a 32 player server. MTA:VC 0.2 will have even better netcode, so who knows how high you can go, but definitely give it a shot as more than one person on the team is a dial-up user and can test with the rest of us without a problem.
-
Although we have put in the skin support and such for "team" play, we have not actually implemented any team functions. Therefore, even though more than one person choose the same team, such as Robber, they will still all be seperate people killing each other as they please. Actual team-based play will not make it into the next release, but of course will be something for the future.
