What would you rather have?: A mod that has a built-in server list but 1 servers and almost always 0 players, or ... A mod with hundreds of players and hundreds of servers on a much better server browser then something we can make in-client? Personally, I will take the more players / more servers. I completed about 60% of a Listing Server and In-Client Support, but it was discontinued to try to put my efforts elsewhere. Personally, I agreed with the decision and I think that the majority of those here would agree.

Take a good look at yourself before you call us lazy.

From my initial testing (5 minutes tonight), it seems that the memory is once again different in this version of the exe (which means a lot of memory searching on our parts). For my own interests, is this 1.0 or 1.1? It definitely seems like a cracked version, but what version of the game I must ask ....

I have the executable here, so if I can find some time tonight I will do some memory scanning on it to see if any differences do exist.

Having problems with creating a server and then connecting.
Cray replied to a topic in General MTA discussion
Typically, you have to connect to localhost or the LAN'd IP rather than the external IP when connecting to your own, local server. -
Unfortunately it is not as easy as just writing a debug version and we are taking steps to see about fixing the crashes. Not much luck yet, but we are trying.

Alright, check the Problems & Bugs forum for a Unhandled Exception on Start Game. You are now experiencing a different problem, which you should be able to solve by reading that thread.

I agree For anyone who wishes to apply at this semi-late stage in development, you must have an extremely strong background in coding and offer something unique (which differs from what we already have). We must see examples of your work and previous experience in some sort of a mod background is also a plus, but DEFINITELY not required. We have to protect our assets and make sure we only have dedicated and talented people on the team, so it is hard to weed out the good from the bad.

What I am saying, is that when you are experiening the crashes, are you also playing on the Server? If you are running the Server, localhost (on the same machine as your a playing), then maybe that is causing an error.

First off, we will be releasing a .AU Patch within a few minutes that will replace the DLL that you have downloaded with the original installation. It should allow for .AU users to use MTA, lets hope. Second, I will move this thread to the Problems and Bugs forum, which is where it should actually be.

Few questions. - Are you running the server with StatLogging 1, so that stats are outputted to the log file? - When you are playing on this Server, are you also playing via connecting to localhost? - Are you sure your Server can handle the amount of bandwidth required for the amount of Player's that you are allowing?

Alright, thanks. We will be looking into this and if we need anything further we will let you guys know via this thread. Thanks again.

Make sure you have all of the *.gxt files in the vcroot\MTA directory and make sure that the american.gxt is the one that was originally included with MTA:VC 0.2 If it is still crashing, try making copies of the american.gxt file and rename them the copies to match each and every other file. So, copy american.gxt, rename the copy to german.gxt, and so on. Try that.

No, this does not fix the Client crashes at all .... only Servers.
-
Shit, shows up as 0.2.0 still .... my mistake It runs much better as you may have noticed on the Official Servers. The 4 Wojjie's and the MMInternet Server have been running for days without crashing.

G4TV is going to send us a copy of the video tape hopefully before it is aired, but we have not yet received confirmation of whether or not we can legally post it here for download.

Alright, we are going to try and debug the australian exe, but we need a copy of it. Can someone that is having this problem zip up there exe and send it to [email protected] ? In the email, please state what language you have, whether it actually is the australian version or not and we will start to look at it and see what is actually happening. I will reply here once I receive an email.
-
It is not being aired until October 10 at 7:30 PM PST.
-
We do only send what has changed, and to fully understand the size of the packets you need to see what data we are also dealing with on our end, which is not something I can show. There is a lot more data that needs to be synced then just what you have pasted here. If it were only that easy, then we would be set for life

This will be something we will evaluate for the future.

1:00 PM PST is 4:00 PM EST.

Hey Hunter, I just updated the news with the updated broadcast date and time. We will be G4TV.com Episode #238, which will air on October 10 at 7:30 PM, so try and watch it for us

Any future versions supporting both games will be handled within one single Client. So you will be able to play both GTA3 and GTA:VC within a single Client, but the game that you will be playing will be dependent on the Server that you are connected to (and the game they are running).
-
We have a basic implementation of this done, but it was turning out to cause more problems them fixes. We will once again visit it sometime in the future though, as their is quite a bit of potential here.

Typo, he meant to say *.dll file, mta_dll.dll Here are the files you need to delete: \mta_dll.dll \config.cfg \MTA\*.* \mta.scm
