it isn't needed, old config files still work. But if you want it to launch ur server you need to rename the exe to MTAServer.exe . An update will be made at some point, but not at the moment. I'm gonna rework it so it comes asking for the exe if the team decides to keep changing the name

The new server is now available. Work began on it due to the attempts of a few to spoil others fun by flooding the current servers with join/parts. This is now blocked and we have taken the opportunity to add a few extras. Wildcard banning is now possible. Players I.Ps can be viewed via the admin tool. Server password can be changed via admin tool without having to restart the server. Some tweaks under the bonnet to increase stability and efficiency Ban and kick (null) error fixed. And many more. See included documents for details. Please note this is FULLY compatible with 0.3 and 0.3r2 versions of the mtavc Client but requires a new admin tool and soon to be released MTAMA 2.0

MTA is celebrating it's first first year. A lot has happend in the past year, and we made a small summary about it on http://1-year.mtavc.com. On that same site you will find a new movie. This movie shows footage from the past year. Going from GTA3:AM over MTA:VC to GTA3:MTA 0.4. MTA has come far in the past year. More than 3 milion visitors on the site, and most clients downloaded more then 100 000 times on our site alone. We therefore want to thank the community who has supported us trough the past 12 months. It was not easy and we would not be here without all of you. I would say : up to the next 12 months, and that there may come a lot of good releases.

I think alloing the server admin to decide would be the best, but since a choice needs to be made, i'll go for number two. I like the big city and closing the islands changes the game in my opinion. While in MTA:VC 0.1 there were almost no cars on the second island, it didn't stop people from travelling there. People like the big maps, and there are few action driven games out there that featere something as big as GTA.

i have this problem as well, it occurs in certain disk drives. If i install it trough my CD-RW drive i get that error, if i use my DVD drive then i have no problem

For some time now we have been rebuilding the entire site and when we released site version 4 it will be built on a template parser system wrapped around a login system. This login system will enable users to register themselves and set some simple settings such as the number of news posts visible. One of the new features will be the chance to choose between multiple templates.
