  1. the majority of the team owns a copy of Visual Studio 6.0, but if you are a startup programmer wanting to learn C++, Dev-C++ is a great piece of software.

  3. some no cd cracks cause problems, i'd suggest not using one, MTA wasn't designed with cracks in mind.. also try an uninstall of both the client and GTAVC, then reinstall GTAVC and then MTA (don't just install over GTA) Kent

  9. there are some functions inside renderware that can handle this.... but we haven't found them yet no promises on that one...
  10. BLUE is much larger than anything we have taken on, and we are currently working on a very complex system that may take us time to implement.... BLUE is already well over 100,000 lines of code... so you can imagine that it requires a lengthy development time. We will release it when its done. Kent

  12. the client doesn't do banning, the server does.. have you restarted the server since clearing the banned.lst file? if not the banned list is still loaded into memory.... after making sure the file is in fact empty restart the server. Kent

    What we do

    here's the problem we have with a master server.... we collectively share the view/concept/whatever that MTA will be played by somebody somewhere sometime long after the team has stopped developing.. we'd rather avoid all of that, and yes making a private/insecure option is feasible but we are still in beta anyways, you're testing our software so this master server even if it existed would need to be coded after we have finalized our base code, which we haven't done yet.   15. yes, we will provide routines for drawing in game, as well as SCM functionality, this is not however the limit of things that the addon will be capable of, Kent
  16. thats only partially true... when you throw latency and people getting slightly different framerates (therefore physics calculations are slightly different) things go down the shitter so to speak.
  17. we didn't forget to up the progress... we just don't update hte progress until we feel that a feature is releasable.. and the structure of development for 0.4 requires a lot of work and then testing it all at once, (another reason for us moving to BLUE) Kent
  18. these small aspects of a gamemode, are things where the community will work best together... so if one guy has a dodo bomber script for example... he can put that code online, and other guys can use it to create dodo bombers in their addon that they're developing. Kent
  19. in BLUE, the nametags clip properly. so they can't be seen if something is in front of htem.
  20. this actually brings up a good point. BLUE will have its own anticheat methods.. of course there is nothing stopping addon developers from adding another level of protection. This could be useful in lots of areas, mostly pertaining to your game logic code and keeping that secure... But really there is no limit to what the SDK will allow. Kent

  24. there may be mods that do that but currently you cannot use these with MTA. it must be played without mods at the current state. Kent
