  2. hehe nice idea but: what about mods people make for blue that allows everyone to drive their car at really high speeds? We dont' want to limit people. That said, we have come up with what we feel is a good solution
  3. actually they are quite fun when you learn how to fly them, I had to get lessons from Black_Dragon in MTA before I was able to keep it in the air long enough to consider flying but some guys can even stunt with those things. Kent

  5. the directX hook only allows us to draw stuff in the game, the peds you see are controlled by other methods, and are completely within the gta engine still

    Speed

    perhaps in a second release of the race mod we will allow races to have custom handling files stored serverside, but for now it'll be stock... all of these things are great features but we'd also like to release sometime soon Kent
  8. yes we plan on expanding the functionality of the editor to work with other mods, and probably will open source it when we release the SDK, so that other addon devs can incorporate this into their gamemodes. Kent
  9. #1, this will most likely depend on what gamemode the server is running. As it is now we haven't coded a player limit into the race mod, (i think 255 would be the natural limit due to how our netcode works) But i doubt this number will be that high in release. We're probably going to decide a limit shortly before release, I can guarantee itll be at least 32... maybe more (not sure tbh) #3, we are looking for 1 last crash, after thats fixed, it seems to be crash free. Then we just have some tweaks and packaging to do. Kent

  13. yeah, we decided to add a new feature, that is pretty extensive.. it is nearly complete and b9 will be very soon, the actual list of bugs is getting quite small on the other hand.. so it shouldn't be too much longer..

    Dogfights

    dogfights w/ the rustler (ww2 plane) are quite fun, i got shot down earlier today playing, so yes you'll be able to do that.

  16. the size of the map doesn't contribute to lag, packet size can, and the rate that things are sent can... the bandwith usage in MTA:SA will be considerably less
  17. on the left pane, scroll up to eye servers expand that click scanners refresh everything pick the scanner w/ the lowest ping and set it to the default scanner
  18. you shouldn't need to forward ports for using ASE as a client... i'd try selecting a different scanner than the one you are currently using.
