  7. ok moron explain where any JPEG code could actually have been used, only place that does anything w/ textures is the directX overlay and the screenshot function.. the screenshot function saves in bmp format , so its obviously not that, and the directX license covers that as well.. you most likely found something that was included by the DirectX SDK when we compiled. If you're going to come in here talking like a hacker, perhaps you should learn something to make a little more sense of the code, rather than just finding stuff in a hex editor.

  9. the issue isn't the game, the issue is making our mod interface w/ the game, which requires a lot of advanced win32 programming, a lot of which was probably stripped out of the API for the xbox. Kent

  13. there have been talks about this subject over many different game dev discussions... when physics and gametime are calculated, its done by checking your system clock and it approximates your current framerate and does objects adjustments accordingly... but things aren't perfect at extremely high and extremely low framerates.. or during times where there is a large variance in framerate (i.e. goingn really high, then really low).. this stuff can trip up physics engines and allow weird things to happen, (or cause your game to seem to run faster or slower)... (some of you may remember a bug existing where you couldn't access a certain part of the map unless you were getting approx 60 fps).. in a general since for MP gaming its better that everyone keep the frame limiter on, to avoid any desync stuff... so I guess in a sense both of you guys are right... the physics tries to keep it running at the same speed regardless of framerate.. but its not perfect.   15. we don't do any damage modifiers w/ any weapons or vehicles, (this is important to us)... as such the easy peasy vehicle kills in GTA3 compared to VC, is just something that will make each its own special type of gameplay.. .I can say this, GTA3 multiplayer is much more intense. VC is nice if you like room... Kent
  16. yeah not a netcode issue.. its physics related ,and most likely the new core will have it fixed.. though I don't think the 0.3 core can handle that kind of drastic change. Kent
  17. there is a known problem w/ the catalyst drivers for Radeon cards, update your drivers and all will be ok. Kent

I fired off an information request for E3 a while back just for kicks (to see what it would entail) and never got a reply, I guess you need to be a polished published company or something for those folks... ahh well we got our fans, and they know what were doing, and people who haven't heard will be flocking in when the new core is finished Kent
  19. hehe Tribes1 was great, So I was quick to buy tribes2 when it came out, the Tribes games are both in my top 10 list. Tribes 2 really does a great job w/ vehicles, tribes1 is just damn intense. Great game, everyone should play this at least long enough to get decent (which could take a while).. if they want to call themselves a gamer.
  20. let alone the fact that you'd need a hacked client which.. is illegal ... we do have modders in mind, and we are working diligently on giving them support to do such modifications, you'll have have to give us time. (perhaps a good chunk of it) Kent
