  1. its not as easy as it sounds, the animations and shooting and everything else were coded for single player only.. and alot of these things are done inline, so its hard to get a whole lot of control over what happens... also serverside verification isn't something you just snap in... you need physics and collision detection on your server, and as of yet the server does not know anything about the innerworkings of GTA, so physics and collision detection is out of the question... We are working on ways to improve this, but something you have to keep in mind, MTA is not written like a typical multiplayer game.... Kent
  2. server computer 2 nics 1. crossover to other computer 2. patch to your internet router other computer only needs 1nic
  3. we will at least try. we'd like to see all 3 of the new titles go multiplayer as much as everyone else.
  4. or strafe, or get cover... or.. pay attention
  5. you are telling the person who wrote the gameplay for MTAVC and GTA3MTA that he doesn't know how MTA is played...
  6. my only point about the ammunation wars is that it is not much different than car killing... people will get just as pissed off to get killed right after buying their AK47 or flamethrower by some guy who's killing people as they pop out.... and then get their gun.. its GTA guys, its not fair... but everyone in the game is on the same playing field, adapt, thats the name of the game.
  7. lol I always thought ammunation wars were lame myself, but thats just me
  8. we haven't heard of any issues w/ such, and I believe one of our coders uses SP2, however it is best to try it and let us know, it is a beta afterall Kent
  9. apparently GTAVC disks are made of the same material that the Predator's suit is... its amazing how noone seems to know where theirs is.. btw its probably at Best Buy. Kent
  10. luckily we don't have to pay for any of our servers.. we'd rather not get into discussions of why or why not, but as a simple way of putting it, we'd rather avoid/prevent arguments within the team
  11. vice refers to drugs prostitution etc.. there is no city named vice, nor place that I am aware of.
  12. thanks for all of your support, without you guys we would have no motivation to keep going... especially with this new core, it is quite an undertaking for us, and we thrive off of the support of the community. Thanks to you, Kent

  14. cars become invisible, actors dont work etc we got the dodo's to work w/ a whole lot of crap.. and the work to get all cars working like this would have been proven very difficult and perhaps unstable..
  15. I'd call it more of a claim or a notice for you guys than a slogan... and we wouldn't hype anything up if we didn't think there was something to hype about.... thats all I can say about anythign right now.. Kent
  16. probably not all together at once with this core.
  17. no, hte problem is in the engine not in the pc.. as far as I can tell, (im obviously speculating a bit, as I do not have the source code to GTA3)

  19. GTA3's engine is seriously limited compared to VC, you'll notice the blue/disco bugs those are caused by straining the engine (type GIVEUSATANK about 60 times and you'll see that). also there are limitations with the number of other types of items we can create. loading actors w/ different skins takes up more memory and strains the engine more.. this is the reason everyone has the same skin, and one of the several reasons we limited gameplay to 1 island. Kent
  20. i loathe consoles too much to consider doing it for xbox, let alone the fact that I don't own one, nor do i know if the operating system for xbox has the functionality we would need.
  21. thanks for the encouragement Kent
  22. the addresses can change but there is always something static to start from.... pointers to classes, for example, and somewhere in that class is the value.. the harder part of memory hacking is finding the pointer, as the addresses can change from 1 run to the next. But... anyways, that only scratches the surface of things we have to do .. hope it clears things up a little bit. Kent
