  1. People with slow connections are going to have problems with most games. Btw, 909, you won't get an official answer to your question.
  2. Blokker's the main person who runs the site. I think eAi and IJs can edit it as well though.

This thread is turning into a flame war. Field33, if you continue to have problems, please open another thread. However, I'd imagine you can probably find your solution here: http://www.mtavc.com/docu/index.php/MTA ... leshooting
  4. I liked the old 0.5 days where there was a massive banner at the top of the home page that it was pretty hard to miss. You have to do a bit more searching this time in order to find the latest version.
  5. If a screenshot is released showing something new, it's not a "super secret". You're meant to find it.
  6. He could be doing that to avoid suspicion though. Think about it.....

    why

Real cars could cause licensing problems. I think accurately modelling real places and cars wouldn't allow for creative freedom from the developers. It's far better to base it on real cars and places.
  8. The bugs at the moment are more of the glitch-type than the crash-type.
  9. Kyeman was originally an MTA developer, but he didn't like the direction MTA was taking so he created his own mod. I can't see the two teams merging, and even if they did, it may not necessarily be an improvement (too many cooks spoil the broth). Btw, it's difficult finding people with the required experience who have time to put into the project. They need more than just regular C++ programmers.
  10. It took them 10 years AND they were being paid and did not have other commitments like college or jobs, unlike the MTA team.
  11. Multiplayer Mayhem? Never heard of it.
  12. I joined the forums about 8 months before I started playing
  13. That's because you installed it to an MTA subdirectory. Try installing the files in Program Files and see what happens. I seem to remember someone reporting this before, and MrJax says that it is not in the current 1.1.1 release, so it seems likely that you are running an older version of the software.
  14. Yes, but the more you update the anti-cheat, the fewer holes there are, so in theory it should be harder to code cheats.
  15. I think that MTA should only work if a genital clamp is connected to the USB port and if it detects a cheater, it sends 40,000 volts down the wire. That'd be a pretty effective way of preventing cheating.

    Curious

And if it does have multiplayer for PC, it will take longer to develop anyway.
  17. We don't know. We'd give out release dates if we knew them.
  18. Wasn't the original plan for it to run on VC Blue?
  19. And don't forget links to 0.5 as well. It may be an old version, but it is the most recent version for GTA3/VC.
  20. If you're taking requests, I request that you play Beethoven's Fifth Symphony whilst escaping from a straight jacket inside a box containing venomous cobras, whilst suspended 100ft in the air over a pool of piranhas.
  21. What would be really good is if they coded MTA in such a way that each game could interface with Blue, and any changes they made would pass down to each game. For example, if they were to sync missiles on helicopters, this support would automatically pass down to SA and VC, but GTA3 wouldn't be affected because it doesn't have helicopters. As you probably guessed, I'm not a programmer
  22. It's for the character selection screen. When you die, the camera positions itself on the roof. It's not an easter egg. Some cheats have overcome the cheat protection, as MTA 0.5 has been out for a long time. MTA doesn't hack any files. It backs up the old main.scm then copies a brand new one in its place. This is used to run MTA. It does not modify any files. The rest of the mod works by modifying memory on your computer, not files on your hard drive.
