  1. Aren't the majority of their games poor?
  2. Yeah, I just meant that the SDK is more powerful than a scripting system (albeit more difficult to code).
  3. Do you have to get the year correct? (e.g. FIFA 2005)
  4. The videos are advertising the mod. We don't want to advertise it as being crappy Someone could find that video somewhere and look at it out of context.
  5. Basically, the features that you see are in there but they're not incorporated in a user-friendly way. There are lots of console commands where there should be menus, the Quick Connect dialog doesn't work and the map editor is incompatible with deathmatch, making it very difficult to create maps. Add to that the fact that there are still features to be added, and some crucial team members are having difficulty devoting time to the project at the moment due to real life issues, and you'll see why it is taking so long. Obviously we don't show the bugs in the videos.
  6. Vista comes in January 2007 (for some reason missing the Christmas period). You made a few assumptions though, namely that MTA would work on Vista, and that Vista would be able to run on his PC (the system requirements are high). And I would imagine that Vista will be around for a long time, as XP came in 2001. My advice: buy Vista later on. I'm always wary of first-generation stuff, so don't get Vista until the first service pack is released.
  7. It works with Windows 2000, XP and Server 2003.
  8. I don't think this will be implemented because it doesn't have mass appeal.
  9. There hasn't been an update for a while, but rest assured that the team have been working very hard on the mod. They have been working extremely hard to implement a very large feature that all of you will be pleased with when it is announced. The reason why there haven't been any updates is because to tell you what has been done involves revealing this feature prematurely. I can say that the team have been trying to sync as many GTA elements as possible. This will mean that there will be fewer glitches than MTA:VC, which people used to exploit in order to gain an unfair advantage. The big question on everyone's lips is "when will it be released?". No-one on the team knows the answer to this question. Any release dates could be complicated by real-life issues, last minute bugs, and certain features being harder to implement than expected. However, some people seem to be expecting a release in the next couple of weeks, which is highly unlikely. To keep you occupied, here is a gameplay video made by Bishop, a QA team member. http://files.mtasa.com/media/1.0/MTADM_QAvid.avi - mirror by So'lide
  10. Happy Birthday Oli
  11. If it's weaving through cities, there's a chance that the leader may crash, allowing you to catch up.
  12. Isn't it your own fault if you get left behind? Why should the leader be punished for that?
  13. I know you have to upload with a 56k modem, but surely you're doing a lot more downloading than uploading?
  14. Can't everyone get satellite broadband?
  15. Nope, no special event. But MTA 0.3 was release on New Year's Eve the year before, and maybe people thought there would be another release close to Christmas again.
  16. No, I think it's Google spidering the forum. Unlike other forums, PHPBB 2.x doesn't detect spiders (PHPBB 3 does though).
  17. Just wait until MTA:SA is released. There are plenty of features that we haven't told you about yet.
  18. digital isnt hd, i dont plan on a new tv for a long time, it has digital, so it will last until they stop broadcasting non-hd, which should be in many years time. but you are right about analog going soon, and hd will start about the same time. most things arnt even filmed in hd yet, so i doubt it will become the only option for at least 10 years. But why invest in digital production equipment when you know it's going to be superceded by HD in the not too distant future? Why not just invest in HD?
  19. I doubt it will be 18 years. Some countries will be stopping analogue broadcasts in only a few years, and will probably start broadcasting in HD formats.
  20. Apple's site has loads of HD movie trailers as well in various resolutions.
  21. Americans spell it "tires", which was why there was some confusion.
