  1. Er... Macromedia (Adobe now) Flash?
  2. Welcome back, Reb. Your English seems a lot better now.
  3. Doesn't VC support DX 9? I know it supports the next version up from whatever GTA3 supports, which I think is 8.
  4. The team said that they have lots of good ideas for the map editor but they won't even tell the QA team what they are yet. You'll find all of that out when MTA hits beta stage.
  5. Also remember that SA is optimised for Nvidia cards.

Currently there are two versions available: MTA 0.5 and MTA:SA. MTA 0.5 combines GTA3 and VC support into a single client. GTA3 support is limited to deathmatch. VC offers both deathmatch and stunt mode. VC's DM is different from GTA3's because it offers you character classes with specific weapons and attributes whereas GTA3's characters have the same weapons but can go into Ammunation shops to buy more. MTA:SA runs on the brand new Blue core but is currently limited to vehicle racing only. Despite this, it is still very fun, mainly thanks to the map editor that comes with it. This allows you to create your own races with all kinds of pickups, custom objects and ramps. A lot of the problems that you mentioned have been fixed. It can still be difficult to hit people in 0.5 but the problem is a lot better than it was in the past. Deathmatch is currently in development for San Andreas. Check out the videos on the blog to see what the new sync is like: http://www.mtavc.com/blog/

    Xfire SDK

When DM becomes successful, they might not have to. Xfire may support MTA themselves.
  8. Guys, stop the flaming please.

    Fuckers

You downloaded MTA from this site, right? If you downloaded it from another site we can't guarantee that it wasn't a modified version.

I find it unlikely that all of your files were deleted. Please give us more information and less flaming.
  11. I think England will get far enough to avoid embarrassment but won't win. That's what usually happens.
  12. It's impossible to give you an answer because the resource usage will depend on the number of players within the player's immediate proximity and how many custom objects the map creator has chosen to add. Other things can affect it too, such as if someone is using a rocket launcher or grenade.
  13. The rule is this: If the topic has moved down so far that no-one will notice an edit, you can double-post. This normally takes a day or two.
  14. Remember that MTA:Blue will eventually be moddable, with a built-in SDK. Even if Rockstar were to include multiplayer in GTA4, I don't think they would go as far as to include moddability. I'm sure that MTA will have a place for many years yet.
  15. Good to see that development is still continuing. Keep it up
  16. Map makers will have more control over that, so don't worry.
  17. I like the way that you're emphasising that it's multiplayer, but it stands out a little too much.
  18. I really like this one. I'm not sure how it would blend in with the rest of the site though.
  19. MTA doesn't modify any of GTA:SA's files, so MTA can't have caused this problem.
  20. The number of players makes no difference; it is the number of players in a small area that affects it. So if you could avoid too many players in one area, you could create an MMO mod. If they did implement it, they'd probably only perfectly sync nearby players, with farther players having a less accurate sync.
  21. yay!!! so it will basically be possible to race in dm too ? Race will still be included separately, but yes, you could theoretically race in DM as well.
  22. I'm sure lots of people are wondering what we're up to, so here's a quick update. Currently we're working hard on various features for Deathmatch. Most of these are going to stay under wraps for now, but I think they'll be great fun when we release. We've got most of the basic game stuff done now, which is good, but as always there's a few little glitches that have to be resolved. These are the most frustrating part of developing MTA - you can spend days or weeks trying to fix a problem and then end up with one line of code that solves it at the end! We'll be spending the immediate future working on a few features that Deathmatch needs. Once that's done, we've got quite a bit of time penciled in to work on the editor. This was a huge success with race and has, I think, made race so much more fun than I (and many other people) imagined. We hope to build on this with an much improved editor and enhanced map system in Deathmatch. We'll have some more concrete and interesting things for you to see soon - watch this space! As always, if you have any suggestions, questions or comments either use the comment system on this blog or visit our forums.
  23. Actually, they're still in the process of adding features.
