  1. What's the most annoying problem then? That's a new one. The old exception error happened every couple of hours or so (on mine anyway). You also say "a few more things" like it's a small thing - yes, there were small things like the speedo, but there was also a big one - GTA3 support. Obviously if you don't have / don't like GTA3, it's not much use, but nevertheless, it's still a major feature that the team devoted a lot of time to (and hence less time to polishing the mod). And of course, yes, the problems will be fixed, obviously.
  2. It's pretty good - very useful, but I still backed up my original just in case
  3. I didn't say I wanted one - just that I expected one. Fair enough, Mad_Boy, but 9 dodos like you say seems excessive.
  4. 3's plenty - I was only expecting 1 dodo.
  5. Oh... oops, didn't notice that, despite the fact that he put it twice MTA 0.3 has it's own server config tool (in the downloads section). I know that some people have gone back to 0.3 after trying 0.4.
  6. Not very high up, but on the front page nonetheless.
  7. Could that be something to do with the increased resource usage of the 0.4 client?
  8. I posted it in "General MTA" because I thought the bug applied to both.
  9. Open it in Notepad (on the assumption that you're using Windows).
  10. Well... I have a genuine version and I take good care of my CDs, so I see no reason, legal or not, to use one. Possible arguments: 1. "It's annoying swapping CDs" - It takes less than 10 secs to insert the CD. 2. "There's a problem with my drive" - Get a new one. Simple. 3. "My CD was scratched when I bought it and I'm not buying a new one" - You should have checked it before you bought it, and / or get a refund. 4. "I use a laptop and don't like lugging loads of CDs around" - Travel lighter. My laptop's battery won't last long enough for me to play a great number of games.

    crashes

You can't. All you can do is post a detailed description of the problem so that the dev team can patch it. (everyone has crashes, btw, some more than others, so no-one will vote "no" genuinely on your poll)
  12. I directed my question at the team. Thank you for taking the time to answer, but I was concerned as to where you got the answers from.

    MTA 0.4 RELEASED

I was thinking more of those with a slow CPU, and / or not much RAM having to wait a long time for the level to load as they switch to the next character.

    MTA 0.4 RELEASED

Or perhaps modify the new one. It would be good to see an image of what you're likely to look like if you spawn as that player next to the pic of the spawn point. The level loading as you switch is annoying (particularly if you have a slow PC, I'd imagine), but I'm not sure how that could be overcome.
  15. I was just playing GTA3 and I got into a car that was parked at the side of the road. However, it wouldn't start, so I got out and got back in again, at which point it froze. I've heard other people complaining about this issue too.
  16. The set file? You deleted what? Which crack? Ah, no, realisation has dawned. BUY GTA3
  17. Then why do the blades kill people? Because the blade kills are hard coded into vice city. That was a rhetorical question...
  18. That can't be dial-up. Anyway, he's talking about 0.3, so it doesn't really matter.
  19. I remember a previous argument that was similar and wasn't too pleasant. Question for Vendetta: What should I be doing?

    MTA 0.4 RELEASED

There will definitely be multiple releases of 0.4 (although they may not necessarily use that naming convention). The reason for this is that they had kept the community waiting for nearly 8 months and there was still work to do. Hence that's why it crashes, that's why stunt's exactly the same, that's why GTA3 doesn't have as many features as VC. These are the prices to pay for having 0.4 early, but rest assured: they will be fixed.
  21. Why not? Cars can be used as a weapon and so credit should be given. Takes more skill than pointing the m60 and pulling the trigger for a couple of seconds. Least a pedestrian can jump out the way of a car pretty easily. It may perhaps take more skill, but it leaves you pretty much invulnerable. Once the car's "health" is depleted, your opponent has your health to drain on top of that. This bug is really annoying because I got accused this morning of being a lamer for car killing when it wasn't even me!
  22. One question: how do you know this without breaking the EULA?
  23. I'm not sure... on the one hand, they've modified it, but on the other, they've got to make it work on the PS2, so they can't change too much (plus they don't have much time).
