  1. Yeah, but if so, you never see them on the radar.
  2. GTAT has boats, but there can't be much demand for them, otherwise people would be playing that instead of MTA. I'd rather have a car any day. And since this has been discussed hundreds of times: Lock request
  3. Ok, I've now realised that GTA3 does have that feature - it just takes 3 or 4 secs to draw the dots on the map, for some reason.
  4. Erm... I didn't intend this thread to be a "who can post pics of what lies beyond the tunnel"-style topic.
  5. It's toggle-able, and you left-click the mouse whilst in a car to switch it on.
  6. Who was that directed at? (and btw, yours was incorrect because you only had 1 sentence, and you indented after every 2 words)
  7. The fact is that you shouldn't HAVE to do that.

    MTA 0.4 RELEASED

What do you mean? It says "drowned" or "baseball bat" in brackets.
  9. Hang on... what do you mean by "server config"? Do you mean the mtaserver.conf file?
  10. I was on a server with 3 people and everything was fine, except for textures sometimes loading slowly, but I get that on SP as well. It was only after 2 or 3 more people joined that the colour bugs came, and the sky would be flashing between colours, regardless of the weather. I always steered clear of servers with a large number of players (e.g. 15+) in MTA:VC 0.3 because I noticed that MTA would be more likely to crash on my machine with more players. I'm sure why this is though.
  11. I think MrBump said that they're going to release a patch for the VC spawn bug, but so far the devs have said that the colour bugs are not a direct fault with MTA. The GTA3 engine doesn't seem to work well on slow PCs, so it's my assumption that MTA's resource usage is causing it, but this may not be fix-able without a new core.
  12. Yeah... on the GTA3:MTA 0.3b credits, didn't the camera go into the clouds, from what I remember? Must have just been a random crash then. I did Turismo again, and the camera went straight up, and then straightened up and reduced its angle. I didn't say it did... but I did notice that time was out by a couple of minutes in some cases. One guy said "10:45" and it was about "10:42" on mine, but that kind of thing's to be expected.
  13. Yeah, that's a good idea. I'm sure a dev will know.
  14. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the core (0.3) was originally intended for VC. Freezes are annoying, but luckily I can alt+tab out.

    what?

I'd recommend that you use the latest version, 0.4. 0.4 combines both GTA3 and VC support into a single client, so you can just download the client on the home page (in the blue box).
  16. Also, once they open up the tunnel to the other cities in later versions, where will they go then?
  17. I think the colour bugs depend on the speed of your PC, don't they? Mine never ran GTA3 very well - it still lags the same amount whether I have the resolution on maximum or minimum. I've found a lot of bugs too, involving exceptions and freezing. They only seem to happen if I die or am about to die (although once it happened when another car hit mine).
  18. I think that would require a new core. That might actually be a memory leak which takes up more memory the longer you run it for. But it would explain why GTA3 has all sorts of weird colours.

    MTA 0.4 RELEASED

That's a very good point actually. We can't really complain about GTA3 lacking features because if they'd put them in, we'd be waiting another 3 months or so.
  20. Ah yeah. I remember a guy saying that he saw a room full of actors. But could they not at least take them off of the radar? It's really annoying following a yellow dot, only to find that it's someone who's not even on the map.
  21. Yeah, you would need a new one. It's probably easier to make a copy of the current one and rename the old one to something different. Creating a LAN server is no different to creating an internet one, except that you want ASE off and to connect to it on the same PC, you type "localhost" instead of the IP.
  22. With regards to this error: You need to click Reset Game Path to sort this out. I get the impression that the uninstallation process didn't remove everything that it should have done.
  23. Ok... I take back what I said earlier about crashing. I only got the one error (the occasional exception error) with MTA:VC 0.3rc2, but with 0.4 (GTA3), I've been getting freezes as well, most often when I die or am about to die (and it looks like I'm cheating). But the great thing about it is that the cheaters haven't had enough time to spoil everyone's fun yet.
  24. What I did was I uninstalled both GTA3:MTA 0.3b and MTA:VC 0.3rc2 and then installed 0.4. I then went into ASE, and it detected that they had been removed and so I clicked "Yes" to remove them from ASE's list. I then went to View > Options > Games, scrolled down to Multi Theft Auto and clicked Auto-Search. I'd suggest that you uninstall all versions of MTA (including 0.4) and reinstall 0.4.
