S.A.R.L - San Andreas Racing league - Entrants, discussions
Si|ent replied to Si|ent's topic in Leagues and events
I would imagine the majority of races would be single-class ones, it'd be pretty tough to balance otherwise as there can be massive discrepencies between different vehicles speeds. I'd hope nothing too unbalanced would make it into the release, same goes for anything we create specifically for S.A.R.L. The exceptions would be the 'chaos mode' races like the giants v golfcarts and smugglers run featured in the preview videos. Spitfire: Not sure what text we will require as yet. I mean for a start is it worth having a forum or do we just use this one? I'd figured you could just make empty buttons and we add the text when we know -
What a strangely appropriate clan tag. DMA Designs being the creators of GTA.
-
The second, no. No announcement has been made promising what it will be. After all who knows what may have to be released if an unforseen problem arises from the first? (touch wood it won't, with the exhaustive testing this time around), but deathmatch has been promised at some point after the race release. p.s. {KoQ}ZrB1aN: does your team let in many goals? I notice they have no goalkeeper

Select a map from the dropdown and it will scan them. Oh and by the way, the patch is for servers, not a players client.
-
Oh ok, your initial post could be taken various ways, I took it to mean you make various modifications.
-
ASE is the All Seeing Eye, a server browser yes, and also the technology used within mta 0.5's client to list servers. So no you no longer need to download and run the stand-alone version (unless you wish to use it for the hundreds of other games it supports of course).
-
If it's freshly re-installed then it isnt version 1.1 It only becomes 1.1 after the patch is appllied. Other than that try all the well known fixes in the known issues thread, game language etc.

This might do better in the 'other mods' section.

From this fortnights MicroMart, A national British computer newspaper.

How did the first few days of the league go?
-
I havn't managed to download this yet as there is always a 'too many users downloading' message and I'm NOT signing up for their premium download thing. But isn't the whole point that he's captured it from his PSP LCS? so he cannot install VC let alone GTA:LC on top, nor can he use fraps.

Ages ago? Today according to you in IRC earlier
-
It looks even worse out of its original context, especially with the grey theme here, so out of fairness I decided to let people visit the site to see it as a part of the whole.
-
Mine has the optional extra grass box with built in compactor, no bag for me nor grassy shoes, no!

Is this some kind of obsessive compulsive disorder? You realise that hitting it may break it all over again, right?

Blue is just the core, the foundation if you like, that MTA:SA and other future MTA's will be built upon. No, the initial release is for SA only, and Race/vehicles only. As for the future, no promises have been made (although some positive noises have come from various team members regarding VC) but it is possible (and relatively simple compared to older cores) to create versions for VC and GTAIII, wether this will definately happen remains to be seen and amongst other things is down to community wishes and the MTA Teams willingness and appetite to do so.

OK, I've added you to solo league. I shall be putting some work in on this this weekend coming, unless you want a basic html site made with the aid of a wysiwyg editor, (which it will be if I make it) we need a webmaster. Spitfire: any chance you could come up wth some graphics for the site this week? Banner, buttons etc, whatever you fancy. I've been looking for some pre-made league php but found nothing suitable so far. Once we get our hands on the final release version of MTA:SA we can get a feel for which particular races to include, and the rules to go with them.. hell, we can make our own to suit our needs if need-be XeJ: thanks for the offer regarding admin, but I don't know you so am unsure about putting you in a position of trust. Perhaps if someone I know can give you a 'reference'? JHXP: I'm more than happy for you to be one of the Administrators of the website once its up and running, (you did mean web admin right?) and also server admin/ref when the time comes of course. Servers: littlewhitey has kindly offered to provide a game server if/when needed. His servers are reliable and powerful so it is a great offer. In fact for any of you looking to rent an MTA (or other GTA multiplayer mod) server in europe his company gta-host have extremely competitive rates. You can find him on this forum, or in the irc channel #gta-host on irc.multitheftauto.com In addition to this I should be able to use an mta.jolt.co.uk server for some races. This is to be confirmed as our (jolts) server policy has yet to be confirmed pending the release of MTA:SA. Thats it for now. Any questions or offers of assistance then don't hesitate to post -
It's a great review, gives you a real taster of the possibilities that open up with the map editor, and the races that can be created with a little imagination. Also as I told him earlier, Jordans grammar has improved dramatically making it a great read even if it didn't contain any new information, which for most it does

The new site's look is great, great colour scheme etc. But the banner is poor to say the least. Even the tired and familiar old one would be preferable I think. There was a competition of sorts on here to have some designed and chosen, but the thread petered out after only two entries and nobody said who won. (if either in fact did). So basically do you agree that the site needs a banner worthy of its great new look? Or are you perfectly happy with the one that is there currently? I shan't add a 'Couldn't care less' as if that is the case then simply dont vote. EDIT: I forgot 'site' in the poll question but cannot edit it now it is posted. Could a moderator change it to 'Should the new look MTA site have a better banner than the current one?' please? Thanks.

Try deleting the gta_vc.set or gta3.set (depending what version you are experiencing this problem with) file that is inside the Grand Theft Auto 3/Vice City User Files directory which can be found in /my documents/ . Then start the game.

(This IS site related, he's the webmaster and devotes a hell of a lot of time to both the forums and the Site itself. He deserves more than some little thread hidden in General section) HAPPY BIRTHDAY mate, many happy returns. Hope you have a great day planned with family and/or friends.

(RPX)Bomb, please try not to post unless its relevant or useful.

JonChappel: The hunter can be seen alongside the health/armour indicators. Mike: Really? It doesn't seem to tie in with the location of the marker visible over the horizon, it looks both further away and more to the east. Perhaps an illusion created by the nitro effect.
-
Actually jon it wasn't changed. It was referred to as core 0.4 in public but Blue was always the internal 'secret' code name that we used long before the public knew of it. From day one when Slush came up with the whole concept of the new core and the name, as I said above
-
I have no idea who the player in the hunter is, how would I? By your reply I guess what I thought were race marker radar blips are players, and that particular race's checkpoints aren't represented on the radar. So that clears that up. Re the timer, it's good to hear thats not a bug, the fact people had ranks rather than positions lead me to believe that race had finished Thanks for the rss explanation.
