Could you stop spamming outside the general area please xblade? some of us find the forum informative, interesting and useful and don't need your usually useless and often childish posts spreading throughout. Thanks
-
Patch the server. By the way, how did you miss the patch download AND the dozens of other posts EXACTLY like this one?
-
My PC is way lower spec than yours and I suffer no such problems. I'd do the rounds checking and updating drivers and directX, defragging etc if I were you.
-
Down with bandwidth bigotry, internet for ALL!

Dead players appear to leave invisible carcasses after explosion in certain circumstances (or possibly always, I've not always been able or willignto stop and check). This is a pain if the tail enders plough into them afterwards, and in some cases prevents picking up vehicle changes (rustler in the hanger in the airport map for instance).

It sounds like your DVD/CD drive seek speeds may be the culprit. If you havn't done so already perform a FULL installation of SA, this will read the radio stations from your hard drive instead of the disc drive and should improve matters.

ASE doesnt show local servers. Everyone else will see it though. Simply connect to 127.0.0.1 (localhost)
-
I believe ASE may still be down (It was last night) unfortunately I'm not at a pc with it or MTA installed so am unable to confirm.

* sneaks up behind slush and checks how long his piece of string is (No, thats NOT a euphamism)
-
Now the mod is out and people have seen the issues I predicted before the release, the MTA Team have agreed that respawn is needed, and promised it in a future release. So I suggest this thread be locked now as it has fulfilled its purpose.

MTA:SA lags significantly less than any previous MTA when playing on dialup (I speak from experience) especially 0.5 and its rather lagarific encryption. It is even possible to play on a 32 player server, something certainly impossible without timing out previously. Just don't expect to win in the larger servers like these, the checkpoints can take up to three seconds to note you have passed through them
-
You can do that already.
-
I dont think we'd need respawn in the straight racing, it would be extremely handy, nay essential, for chaos modes and the more inventive gametypes though.
-
visit http://light.mtavc.com and grab the MTA:SA Race client, install and read the readme and/or manual, launch. Play with any of over a 1000 people worldwide at any one time. Have fun

Vehicle Capture the Flag Race/Map/Mod thing
Si|ent replied to Goldenpipes's topic in General discussion
If the pickup being taken and being unavailable for x minutes is synchd then we should be able to make this. -
That's an excellent idea.
-
A timer that counts down to the end of the race would be useful (and relatively easy to put in I think) This would make survival games possible, a little like Smugglers run but no course to follow, just surive against the odds for x minutes. Could also apply it to the 'trackmania' style assault course maps, giving a limited time for the player to reach the end.
-
Is the uploader blocked from rating his own map? Also does a single vote give it that rank? (i.e A single person votes 5/5 it gets ranked 5 until other votes come in)
-
For vehicles in SA that's true, unfortunately not in VC though. It was on foot I always wanted it. For the Cop career.

Vehicle Capture the Flag Race/Map/Mod thing
Si|ent replied to Goldenpipes's topic in General discussion
I dont think this would work unless you only have one 'flag' in a central area. You cant use checkpoints in each base because it has to be the same checkpoint order for everyone. Jon you said a pickup can be set to respawn, does that mean only one person can get it, or everyone can only get it once per x minutes? Depending on the answer, one way or another as described above should be fairly simple to do. The key I think will be choosing a suitable location. (I have a few in mind) I'm tempted to have a go at this myself but don'treally think I have the time until the weekend. -
laggy this thread was about mta:sa, i.e. the released version, and ways to improve it. not future DM versions. Perhaps you coudl start a thread for that rather than muddy this one?
-
Excellent news. thanks whitey, you rule.
-
Not really, that's just demolition derby and nothing else unfortunately.

Is anyone interested in running a purely aggro server? (or already doing so) Featuring only combat and contact sport maps (chaos mode maps if you will). Plane v plane, Tank v tank, Smugglers run, Demo derby, Sumo wrestling etc? I, and I'm sure hundreds of others, would love to find a server like this. One where I know I can get straight in there and have a bit of violent fun without having to wait through several 'normal' races first. If so then please let me know the ip (European preferably ) and it will be one of my regular hangouts.
