I'm not sure realism is the issue, it's more a case of balancing power of attack and defence. But if it was it would be a lot more unweildly to try and perform rapid driveby shootings with a cumbersome, long, two handed weapon. Much easier with a small single handed one such as a pistol or ingrams.

That's an odd place to host it. I may grab it one day if its placed somewhere it can be downloaded from.

All weapons will be available to mod makers. As for the mods that ship with the release, that remains to be seen.

Please read the EULA. No other modifications are to be used alongside MTA. Future releases built upon the new core will allow controlled and shared modifications. The current, and past versions, don't.

Presumably sound works with other things on your pc? So you know its not an actual hardware issue? If so then delete the gta_vc.set file in \My Documents\GTA Vice City User Files\ Note that you will need to re-set and custom control configurations in-game after doign so. A small price to pay for working sound.

I played for many months on dialup with no real problem, obviously lag is higher for a dialup player but with a little skill and practice you will get used to it. Best bet is to stick to smaller servers as due to the way mta works more players active on a server = much more downstream required. And yes, you will meet plenty of bandwidth bigots out there without the skills or patience to fight a high ping player but thankfully not all servers nor players are, so there are plenty of places you can play. MTA:SA is for PC, not consoles.

Theres been a growing number of complaints about the amount of 'good luck' posts that appear in a new gangs first thread. In some cases it has been impossible for the gang to use the thread in a functional way, for organisation and news, due to the sheer amount of good lucks piling in from strangers. It can be nice for a gang to be made to feel welcome, and a few good lucks can do this, it's out of hand though and can even kill a gang off in the worst cases. With this in mind we ask that after the first PAGE of a new gang thread you no longer post any good luck's. Let the gang settle in and use thier thread rather than flooding it.

It's comments like that that make us wonder why we should bother. Anyway, no we havn't said we are scrapping 0.5.5.

They approve, appreciate has a very different meaning. Approve as in they are aware, have given permission and have even taken a look at the mod (perhaps played it? who knows) and told us it was impressive.
