  1. Surely the whole purpose of deathmatch is to fight?
  2. Didn't it used to have one at one point (or was that picture of the week)?
  3. Maybe you could PM Luigi to ask him how he manages it for his Mafia mod.
  4. The clue is in the "as far as I've tested" bit. He didn't say that they were perfect for certain, only that his testing had revealed no anomalies.
  5. That link explains his second question, but what about the first: will all users be required to install VC in English?
  6. There are currently a few RPG servers running simple MTAMA scripts but these are pretty basic. I'm certain that there will be several RPG mods for Blue, but I doubt Blue will ship with an RPG mode.
  7. But Kent said that they're forcing the frame limiter on in Blue. Why would they do that if it wasn't a problem?
  8. This is what it says on the site: How do you plan to achieve points 1 & 2? Point 3's a good idea though - a centralised ban list that server admins can download.
  9. But doesn't it speed it up on other people's machines?
  10. Did you pay this 1.1k recently? A 5200 sounds low for a brand-new top-spec machine. It sounds like your connection is the problem, but MTA always has a bit of lag anyway, as you'll notice if you play it on a LAN. I'm not sure that turning the frame limiter off would achieve much. The frame limiter keeps the game running at a steady 30 fps (if I recall correctly) to stop it playing too quickly on high-spec machines. If you have a low spec machine that lags online because of its spec, turning the frame limiter off won't make a difference because it will still churn out frames at less than 30 fps. The frame limiter speeds up your game and so you'll move very fast on other people's screens. If your connection isn't very good, you'll tend to jump even further across the screen than before. Some people use enhanced speed to their advantage and so that's why they've forced the frame limiter on with the upcoming MTA Blue.
  11. Regarding your last point, I found something interesting on Planet GTA a few days ago. It was an extract from an interview with Sam Houser, president of Rockstar. http://www.forumplanet.com/PlanetGrandT ... id=1557492

    HELP!

Do you have a cracked version of GTA?
  13. That's correct. You have to get Cam the safecracker out of prison (I think it's the first Malibu mission). The prison door opens during a cutscene though - I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
  14. I got that message t'other day after installing MTA after a reformat. I did a bit of investigating and discovered that for some reason, the installer had not installed any files to my GTA directory, only the Program Files\MTA folder. Reinstalling MTA solved this.
  15. Sorry for the triple post, but if anyone wants to try out the Yahoo beta of ASE, here's how to do it. 1. In the tree on the left hand side of the window, select Eye Servers > Scanners. 2. Refresh the list and right click the one marked either "scan1.RE2" or "scan2.RE2" and set it as the default scanner. 3. Now go to File > Update Eye and it will update you to the latest version.
  16. They're also making minor changes to stunt mode as well. I actually prefer stunt mode to deathmatch, but it would be better if there was a greater competitive aspect.
  17. Sorry about the double post, but I found a thread on ASE's forums where the fans have asked questions to Yahoo representatives: http://www.udpsoft.com/forum/topic.cgi? ... topic=2631
  18. San Andreas' multiplayer has no netcode at all. The players play locally on the same screen. It would be a large undertaking to introduce online multiplayer for the PC version (and would probably break the terms of Sony's contract with Rockstar).
  19. Blue is a much larger undertaking than 0.4.5, so the fact that the progress bar is 10% higher does not necessarily mean that it is closer to release than 0.4.5.
  20. Well, I won't like it if they turn it into another Gamespy Arcade. I know I said above that I'd like Gamespy support, but that's because certain other browsers use the Gamespy masters.
  21. It shows the ASE logo, so I'm presuming that they used the ASE SDK for that. It would be nice for Blue to have Gamespy support in addition to ASE support so that people have a wider range of choices.
  22. I've found that people only tend to slide when they're making small movements. When they're running or walking for a decent distance (without much lag), it looks like they are walking normally.
  23. I don't know for sure, but I doubt the money ASE makes at the moment is enough to satisfy Yahoo.
  24. But what would the script do if it found the person was cheating?
