I know that they could do it, I was just wondering if they would do it for 0.4.5 or leave it for Blue.

I was thinking about this earlier. Since a lot of gangs would like their own custom skins for their team, couldn't the skin be transmitted by each person who has it in segments to new players that join the server (kind of like the methods that file sharing programs use)? That way it doesn't affect the server's bandwidth and each player only experiences a small drop in bandwidth. It only works if more than one person has the skin, but I think it'd be a good system for gang wars.

You can look at it that way... or you could say that they're spending so much time working on Blue that they haven't got time to update the site. It would be stupid to give up now and scrap a year's-worth of work though.

There aren't going to be random tanks lying around in Deathmatch. They'll be there for mod users to create a balanced game mode around.

eAi said that they received 17,000 reports if I recall correctly, and there are only a finite number of possible errors, so 17,000 is probably overkill. On the subject of crashes, what will happen in 0.4.5 when someone tries to get on a motorbike as a passenger when there's no driver? Will it: a) Remain unchanged? b) Automatically set the person as driver instead? c) Set them as passenger and not crash? d) Display a message and not allow them to get on the bike until there's a driver?

Crashes can be caused by: 1. Having a cracked version of GTA featuring a blood patch. 2. Graphics / sound drivers 3. Setting the version in the client to the wrong version of GTA 4. Not having GTA installed in English 5. Having a censored version of GTA with a modified .exe That's all I can think of at the moment.

Changes to GTA3: * New map - Shoreside Vale * Synced skins * Character classes * Bug fixes Changes to VC: * Stunt mode changes (hinted at) * Bug fixes These are the only changes we know about so far. The team haven't revealed the rest, but I'd assume that they'd make some VC improvements as one of the criticisms aimed at 0.4 was that there weren't enough VC changes.

Or you could get a non-dedicated server for virtually nothing (in comparison). Another server provider that Talidan forgot to mention is Game2XS. Jolt apparently supports MTA, but you can't seem to order an MTA server through their site at the present time.

I think they were emailed, if I remember correctly. My memory of them is a bit hazy because they abandoned the concept not long after I joined the forum.

Do you have a no-CD crack installed? These can cause issues with MTA. -
It's easy enough to edit the mtaserver.conf file (located in C:\Program Files\Multi Theft Auto\Server by default). Just open it in Notepad and there are comments within the file that tell you what can be changed.

That's great news. I loved that server and stunt seems to have lessened in popularity since it left us (possibly coincidence though). I can't access that site though as my ISP uses proxies.

Tanks aren't synced in the current core. I presume they're synced for Blue, but that's only for VC at the present time.

I had that problem the other day when I was playing MTA on my laptop. It has no numpad and so letter keys double as numpad keys when numlock is on. I had switched numlock on so that I could fly a helicopter with the numpad keys and then died. Enter wouldn't work at the spawn screen until I switched numlock off, which was strange as Enter only has one function on my laptop.

ASE can find LAN servers (Tools > Find LAN servers) but it's not a requirement.

If you know VB already, you shouldn't have a great deal of difficulty learning C++. Also bear in mind that MTA itself will probably handle a lot of the complicated stuff.

Currently the only other similar offering for MTA is CSports.net, but you have to pay for that. I think this is a great idea though. Csports' algorithm slowly moves each player further down the list if they haven't played for a long time. Will your algorithm do something similar?

Yeah... the anti-cheat code can be a little over-enthusiastic at times. My advice is to make sure that you have no other mods installed for GTA and that you close all other applications before you run MTA.
