The ability to change money is done via a script which resides on the server and doesn't interface in any way with GTA. This means that it cannot update the amount of money on the HUD. Regarding Ammunations, these are not currently supported in Vice City but will be in the next version, 0.5.1. No release date is known for this. However, Pay 'n' Sprays are currently supported in GTA3 if you want to use them. They have addressed some synchronisation problems in 0.5.1 (see the most recent news post on the homepage for an example), so hopefully this will improve your situation. If not, MTA Blue is in development which offers improved aiming and reduced bandwidth usage. More details: http://www.mtablue.info

No-one really knows how the PC version's multiplayer will work, or even if it will ship with it at all. SA's multiplayer has no netcode whatsoever and hence they can sync as much as they like without lag. MTA operates over the internet and does not have this luxury. I don't see how a development team of 10389 people (many with no experience or qualification at all) will achieve anything productive. The MTA Team are always looking for new team members, so you could email Cray or IJs in order to apply. Also, it could be argued that community members are part of the team because they are testing the beta versions of MTA and providing their feedback in order to improve the mod.

Name one game that has eliminated cheating entirely.

Edited to remove referral ID from link.

hahahah, that made my day Sorry but you have clearly never played 0.3b I didn't properly play it because there were only about 5 servers on ASE and no-one was playing on any of them. Everyone else was playing MTA:VC 0.2.2, but I couldn't because I didn't have XP. I did still run 0.3b though (eventually) and play around on my own for a short while. The only other "player" was a frozen character like you mentioned.

Yeah, the kill credit bug in 0.5 is definitely worse. In 0.4 it accused the wrong people of killing but I'm finding in 0.5 that it gets the weapon wrong as well. I was playing today in SSV and it kept saying Colt when I was using a Uzi. Were there problems in 0.3b with this as well?

What do you mean?

From the Known Issues thread:
-
Start testing what? And anyway, all kyeman is doing at the moment is the chat code and suchlike which the MTA team have already.
-
They may open one upon the release of the PC version - I don't know. As of now, it's kind of pointless as the devs' answers to most questions will probably be "we don't know yet". You're welcome to create an "MTA:SA Gamemode Suggestion" thread though.
-
The plan is to port Blue technology over to SA, so people can program their own game modes. The idea behind Blue is that (almost) every single VC single player feature is available and I doubt this philosophy will be forsaken upon the release of SA unless for technical reasons, although I'm sure these will be overcome with time. The reason why there's no MTA:SA section is because the team don't want to get people's hopes up and then find that multiplayer is impossible with SA (although this is unlikely).

Great Btw, does "taken some measures" (as opposed to "fixed") mean that it still occurs from time to time?
-
Thanks for the update Bump. It's great that you're keeping us informed. Nuttertools, they said that they tested old versions of MTA as well. It's pointless basing your opinion on those screens because for all you know, they may not even be from 0.5.x.

I was talking specifically about (stereotypical) n00b carkillers.

Known Issues is your friend... http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=11098 It's near the bottom.

Not only can they not fight (hence why they resort to car killing in the first place), they can't drive either I often find that they take ages to turn the car round after they've missed me, which makes it easy to damage it.

Jani, in future, PM or email it to him.

Doesn't he do a lot of the gamemode stuff?

You're trying to connect via Admin+ when it's disabled. If you want to enable it, you can do so via the mtaserver.conf file. It offers more advanced features such as the ability to report a player's location and health for example. It does, however, take up extra bandwith - the same amount as a normal player. If you don't want to enable it, deselect the checkbox marked Admin+ (I think it's a checkbox anyway. I can't check because I haven't got MTA installed on this PC).
-
I don't think he's talking about Admin+.
-
Many servers have this functionality already via Oli's GRS script (see the Add-Ons section for more details).
-
It's an option in the mtaserver.conf file. If you haven't changed it, it'll be 4003.

Yeah, that sounds easier.
