  1. No, it means that either: 1. You don't have it (but you would have even greater problems). 2. You have an old version. 3. It is corrupted. Try reinstalling DirectX as suggested.
  2. Plus it looks as if it will be easier to code Blue mods than it would for normal VC ones.
  3. There is still a client. You still have to run MTAClient.exe (or whatever it will be called), only it will skip the client interface and take you directly to VC. There was a little bit of confusion at first because people thought that you would just fire up VC single player and click on Multiplayer in the menu or something, but the team confirmed that this was not the case.
  4. Surely that's a contradiction though?
  5. This problem seems to have come up fairly often in 0.5. There are plenty of other threads on this, but I'm not certain that they came up with a solution.
  6. I found this: http://forums.pcworld.co.nz/showthread.php?t=49803 It recommends reinstalling DirectX.
  7. Smooth gameplay and the extra additions such as boats, synced drivebys etc. It'll take MTA a lot closer to "true" GTA gameplay.

    Cars

/me doesnt Here's the original news post: http://www.mtavc.com/archive.php?nummer=170 The videos are down though.
  9. You can't run MTA with any other modifications, including VCMM. If you want to have single player mods as well, you will need to have 2 installs of VC.

    Cars

They said they were testing the new vehicle handling method. They didn't say for certain that it would be in the final release. /me remembers the 0.4 smoothness videos
  11. You have to point it to MTAClient.exe, not the Vice City exe.
  12. Blue won't have pedestrians or AI-controlled cars. How many times do we need to tell you? ???

    The First MTA:mA

    Either way, question answered. Locked.
  14. Well, it's a nice idea. Won't work though.
  15. Which language is your friend using? This'll help him if he's using VB, but the API calls may be similar for C++ (I have no idea): http://www.mentalis.org/tips/tip047.shtml
  16. *cough* http://www.mtavc.com/mta05/clientimages/mta05_2.jpg
  17. I think he means the built-in one. Some people have experienced this problem but I don't recall there being a specific fix. I'm not sure if this is a MTA or ASE problem either. In the meantime, you can browse for servers manually by download the All Seeing Eye server browser: http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2/index.html
  18. You can set up a server within the client.
  19. I seriously doubt there will be much demand for singing and dancing.
  20. This problem can occur with outdated graphics card drivers. Make sure you have the latest drivers for all of your hardware.
  21. Do you mean the ability to select a spawn location?
  22. I expect there will be loads of mods at first as everyone tries out the new modding capabilities. Over time though, this should sort itself out.
  23. Your configuration looks fine. Does your router have a firewall? If so, disabling that might help. If it still doesn't work, you could try placing the router in the DMZ (temporarily!) to ascertain whether the router is the factor stopping people from connecting.
