  1. According to PlanetGTA, SA for PC will be DVD only (not confirmed officially though). Also, don't buy it from Walmart if you're under 21 (not sure if that applies to WASDA): http://www.forumplanet.com/PlanetGrandT ... id=1626360
  2. Are you connected to the Internet when you start the client? If you're not, it tends to crash, even if you're planning to play a LAN game. This is a known bug and will be fixed in 0.5.1.
  3. I don't know if anyone saw this on PlanetGTA.com: I always thought that they weren't allowed to make significant changes to the PC version due to their contract with Sony. Either way, I'm not complaining
  4. Does it work with MTA though?
  5. In an attempt to bring this thread back on topic, I do actually have a genuine question (now there's a first). One problem with previous releases (0.5 in particular, I seem to recall) was that many of the testers were not the kind of people who played MTA for long periods of time every day and hence did not know how to perform many of the various glitches that so-called "experienced" people knew how to perform, hence why the weapon switching glitch went un-noticed. Will this be addressed in the 0.5.1 testing?
  6. Safe, is the framerate gonna b better in blue cus i have a wank ass gfx card and i always get uber low fps with explosions n stuff in VC, in GTA3 it crashes my whole comp lol and i'm sure on single player fire doesnt me up so bad They've made the code more efficient so it should consume fewer resources (in theory).
  7. Surely you'd need separate installs for SP mods though? I got the impression that Blue would only control mods specifically adapted for it.
  8. I had that error when my graphics card drivers were messed up (or it might have been a physical problem with the card - I can't remember). My suggestion: 1. Reseat your graphics card and sound card (if applicable) - i.e. take them out and put them back in. Sometimes problems occur because you've put another card in which flexed the motherboard slightly and caused another card to come out of its slot. 2. Install the latest drivers for your graphics and sound cards.
  9. They don't use the built-in netcode any more. And anyway, if I recall correctly, only GTA3 has left-over netcode. People's specifications aren't really the MTA team's fault though. But then again, SA does work on the ageing PS2, so it will be interesting to see what the system requirements are.
  10. I've just remembered: you forgot Bloodymess13 (well actually I remembered ages ago but forgot what his name was). I'm not quite sure what his role on the team is as he's fairly new and they haven't updated the team page yet, but he seems nice enough.
  11. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodte ... mempr.mspx But yeah, hardware's much better, it seems.
  12. I'm pretty sure that SP2 has a software "equivalent" that doesn't require a NX chip.
  13. You can disable DEP in System properties which is a hell of a lot easier than the method Twig suggested. I wouldn't really advise this though, as it's used to prevent viruses injecting code into memory space being used by other applications (or something like that). By default, it is only enabled for Windows components so it should not affect MTA. If you did choose to enable it for all programs, you can specify MTA as an exception within System Properties (click on the Advanced tab and then Settings under Performance).
  14. It sounds a pretty good idea, but I've never heard of Megaman and I'm not sure how many other people have, which means that you may have difficulty finding people willing to create such a mod.
  15. What I was saying is that Jigga already seems to have decided what's possible and what's not.
  16. Wouldn't it be better to wait for the release of MTA:SA (if it's possible, that is) rather than trying to decide what the team can and can't achieve?
  17. I'd say get it if the price is right, but you're only going to notice the difference if you upgrade your CPU as well. The Ti4200 isn't that bad, so you may be able to improve in game performance by keeping the old card and upgrading your CPU.
  18. What do you mean "begin to make good ideas"? I think they've had great ideas. Everyone said that GTA would die when it was brought into 3D, but it's even better.
  19. What about spawning with flamethrowers in GTA3?
  20. Not a bad idea. Reminds me of the racing game Insane (or 1nsane as it was actually called *shudders*).
  21. So does that mean that Blue still uses the old method?
  22. Surely extended testing would reveal gameplay flaws anyway?
