  1. It's not so much that 0.5 is worse (although Turismo is now gone), it's just that no-one wants to play Portland any more now that SSV's here. I did like Portland's simplicity and lack of spawn wars though.

    Problem in exe file

    From the Known Issues thread:
  3. I think anything else that could be said would just be a repetition of what was said before.
  4. I'm not sure that the extra features of SA will be possible with Vice City. Bear in mind that Liberty City was putting an old game onto a newer engine whereas this way round, you'd be putting a new game onto an older engine. With regards to baby-g's idea, I'm sure it would be possible with Blue.
  5. I'd disagree with that, as I'm sure Mike and Rebel will in addition to several people I've forgotten. No, VC has a more up-to-date engine. I'm sure that these issues could be ironed out in a version of Blue for GTA3. I know what you mean there, but that's likely to be less of an issue in the future as more and more people upgrade.
  6. Personally I'd rather hear about what the next release of MTA is like rather than Blue.
  7. Plus the "absolutely 100% cheat-free and no bugs whatsoever" conclusion that people strangely managed to reach after reading the Blue page.
  8. The problem is that the percentage bar for Blue has stayed at 65% for the past 6 months or so, so it looks as if they have forgotten about Blue. This of course is incorrect. They're probably quiet about it because of 0.5.1.

    MTA: can not play

Cookies? I've never heard of a problem with those before. Could you possibly give more details?
  10. Firstly, I wasn't aware that any features of GTA4 were official. Secondly, we have no idea when it will be released and it could be 2 or 3 years from now. With the release of Blue, modding will be possible and there should be plenty of popular mods by that time. Thirdly, no-one can really speculate what the MTA team will do. They will most certainly not go with Driver 3 because that will be as old as the GTA games but with significantly less demand, thus they'd be better off staying with GTA.
  11. I'd second what Quig said, as they both offer different styles of gameplay. Secondly, whilst the team hope to get Blue finished before SA is released on PC, it is merely a hope and not a set-in-stone release date. Thus any delay to Blue will be a delay to MTA:SA. If you only want to buy one: GTA3's deathmatch (Shoreside Vale specifically) is currently better than Vice City's, although this will be addressed in the next version (0.5.1). Vice City's Stunt mode has improved a lot in 0.5 so I'd suggest VC if you're more into driving / stunting than deathmatch.
  12. Wow... this thread's been completely hijacked. Back on topic please.
  13. Yeah, they have, according to the IGN preview. Apparently you can only notice it if you specifically look hard for it.
  14. I think we all knew all along, but no-one liked to commit to anything just in case it wasn't possible. Anyway, as stated, there is already a thread about this (thanks for posting it though) so I'll lock this to keep discussions in one place.

    Server problem

    This may help: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm
  16. Yeah, anti mod protection would be stupid. Half-Life wouldn't have lasted as long as it did without Counter-Strike.
  17. Just to clarify what njr1489 said, I saw this on PlanetGTA (latest news post):
  18. Everyone says 0.5 is terrible, but it's only really the VC DM aspect of it. I think both GTA3 and VC Stunt (which had more work put into them) have improved from 0.4.x.
  19. Some people have been speculating whether the PC version of SA will include "proper" multiplayer. PlanetGTA has confirmed (via IGN) that this is false, although it is still unknown whether the PC version will include the PS2's rudimentary 2 player mode. http://www.planetgrandtheftauto.com
  20. Reporting problems Doesn't get you banned, nor does just whineing, not sure what cases your talking about here, But let's stick to your main points I think he may be referring to when people post things publicly that they should have PMed to a developer.
