  1. I know, but you could just send them an email.
  2. It's not that the program itself is better, it's just that it's more popular which is important in an IM application.

    possible?

They would be good for some modes, like RPG. I'm not sure about racing - they'd get in the way, but that would make it more challenging. I don't think they'd be much good for deathmatch. It's too easy to kill them.

    cops 'N' robbers

That's a good idea, and I'm sure it's possible to add to a player's nametag when the SDK is released.
  5. If you're posting it on the internet, make it into a jpeg.
  6. Can the server browser find LAN servers automatically in this release (unlike 0.5)?
  7. Whilst we're on the subject of radio, are radio stations synced in MTA:SA? Or if not, do they at least start at random point each time? One of the most annoying aspects of MTA 0.5 and its predecessors was that you'd hear the same bit of radio over and over again every time you started a new game.

    SHOW US YOUR PC

Ignore him. That's god4u under a different ID. What he doesn't realise is that it's easier for us to ban him than it is for him to change his IP, change his email address and register a new username. When he realises this, he'll give up.
  9. MTA:SA will be entering beta soon, as the team have stated. This means, in theory, that you should not have long to wait, however the beta tests could reveal significant bugs that could take a while to fix. That's why the team don't want to tie themselves to a release window that they may not be able to keep.
  10. Sorry, we don't allow the discussion of warez.
  11. Btw, there are no AI players due to the amount of lag they would create. They would be pretty bad in the current core but some of the devs have said they may put some research into supporting them with the new Blue core, but this is likely to be after a stable, full-featured release. Also note that conducting research does not mean that they will definitely be included.
  12. Don't worry if your antivirus program says you have a virus in MTA 0.5 (MTAClient.exe). As long as you downloaded MTA 0.5 from our official file archive, there is definitely no virus. The antivirus programs suspect it because it modifies GTA's memory addresses and it may flag it for "virus-like activity". We suggest to add an exception for MTAClient.exe in your anti-virus program if possible. Both McAfee and Norton have been contacted about the issue but they'll probably do nothing at all about it.

    VIRUS?!?!

    See here: http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=13633
  14. MTA is fun but it has some issues at the moment resulting from the fact that it is a beta. The new MTA core, codenamed Blue, will try to fix a lot of these problems. More info: http://www.mtablue.info
  15. .race scripts are a feature of the MTA:SA race mod. You'd create them by driving to the point you want the checkpoint to appear at and typing a command into the console to save it to a file. You'd then upload the file to a server running MTA:SA.
  16. That's actually what happened, only they didn't lower the bar. They've got to-do lists but it's difficult to predict a percentage from them because not all of the features will make it to release. Some of them might take too long to implement, with the release waiting for one minor feature to be completed. Others might cause side-effects that affect previously-working aspects.
  17. Don't worry if your antivirus program says you have a virus in your MTA client. If you downloaded it from the Gonnaplay.com mirror, it has no virus. The antivirus programs suspect it because it hacks GTA's memory addresses and they flag it for "virus-like activity". Both McAfee and Norton have been contacted about the issue but they'll probably do nothing at all about out. My advice is to disable your antivirus program whilst playing MTA (this will not leave you susceptible to viruses if you close all other programs as well). Since everything has been explained here, all threads complaining about viruses will be locked. Edit: Since there was a bit of confusion, I'll explain that the Gonnaplay.com mirror is the official mirror. There is no download available on the MTA site itself.
  18. Norton have recently updated their virus definition files which is why the error has only come up recently. If you downloaded it from the Gonnaplay.com mirror, I can assure you that it has no virus. It suspects MTA because it hacks into GTA's memory process. Lots of viruses try to crash a program and then hack into their memory addresses so thats why it suspects it.
  19. Just out of interest: is Blue likely to have such problems considering that it interfaces with the game in a different way?
  20. If you download it from the Gonnaplay.com mirror, it should be fine. This seems to be an issue with certain anti-virus programs because of the way that MTA hacks the memory addresses of GTA.
  21. If you are connecting to yourself, use 127.0.0.1 or localhost. If you are connecting to others, use their network IP which is normally 192.168.x.x. To get the server IP, go to Start > Run (on the server machine) and type cmd. Then type ipconfig and note down the address in the IP Address field.
  22. Don't they slow everyone's PCs down? That's why they were removed from single player.
