  1. SA is a new game and people are demanding multiplayer mod(s) for it because they do not exist. At least GTA3 and VC have existing mods, although not as advanced as Blue. Rest assurred that they have not abandoned VC and will return to it when they are satisfied with SA.
  2. It's strange that you managed to complete other missions where you had to keep up with someone. You just have to keep up with the firetruck and ram it when Sweet starts to fall off. You then become gunner and Sweet drives so it shouldn't be a problem from then on.
  3. Well, some people like the idea, some hate it. I'm going to lock this because I really don't want this turning into a flame war. People seem to get quite worked up about each particular mod vs the other one.
  4. Nope, the first release will only work with 1.0. Later releases will support the patch as well (ChrML said probably release 2). Edit: After reading the changelist, I can't see anything that would affect MTA.
  5. MTA:SA runs on the Blue core so the sync you see in the video is the same as the vehicle sync for Blue.
  6. Yes, we have no power over servers that other people run so you will have to contact them directly in order to resolve an issue. Contact addresses are often shown in the message of the day shown when you join the server.
  7. I think this is better in the Other Mods section.
  8. I don't quite understand what part of that offended you and why, but if Blue has access to GUI functions, why not make use of them? Ok, for certain features this will be impractical as you stated (although I didn't specifically mention admin functions). You completely missed my point regarding DOS. I did not mention DOS games at all, I said that if typing commands is so great, why does the majority of the world use Windows instead of something like DOS where you have to type every command?
  9. njr1489: Some people on the dev team would prefer to release everything at once - SDK, all features, etc. However, this would take a long time and they don't feel that the community should put up with the older core for that length of time as it is starting to show its age in later releases (0.4, 0.5). Working on a smaller scale means that both development and testing are more manageable and therefore more productive. A race mod is a good starting point because deathmatch has lots of elements to it which increases both development and testing time. By focusing on one particular element (vehicles), the team are easing their workload because they can donate more time to other elements when creating deathmatch.
  10. njr1489: Not necessarily. I'd rather play a mod that's fun than one that's perfectly synced.
  11. It probably does work, but they use a really slow server.
  12. I was going to wait until they'd got further into development before playing it, and until I'd heard other people's comments about it. I was always kind of put off by the slowness of the server and the fact that they misspelt San Andreas.
  13. Blue is the core, not a specific version of MTA. MTA:SA runs on Blue and they'll develop it for VC once the SA version has reached a statisfactory level.
  14. We beta test all the time. We don't really have any official test dates, we just test whenever we can. This means that we can spot bugs that you might not notice straight away.
  15. I'm not sure that a massive team would necessarily be more productive. They may just get in each other's way.
  16. If it's legal and MTA-related, I don't see a problem with it. This may benefit some of our users.
  17. Presumably it syncs everything in the city for the radar blips. MTA:SA uses a LOT less bandwidth, although I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post what the average amount per player is. No way would you use 100 GB a month with it though.

    Adding Skins

You can't. MTA doesn't support mods at this time, and that includes skins too. The new core, Blue, will support mods specifically created for it though.
  19. I'd say it was modified, but I don't know if MTA checks those files. If it does work, it might cause instability though.
  20. It works on dialup, yes, but broadband is recommended. The fact that the servers are unscanned could be due to a firewall, if you have one.
  21. Yeah, you need a clean install. If you want to keep your mods, reinstall GTA to a second directory and keep that one clean for MTA.
  22. Or... 1. Double click their offline name in MSN Messenger, which launches your email program automatically with the person's name already in the "To" field. 2. Type message. 3. Click Send.
