A blue screen without text? Never seen one of those before. Perhaps one of the developers can think of a solution to the problem.
-
Everyone's playing MTA:Vice City at the moment because it's got a newer core which makes it easier to use, faster and more stable.
-
Nope, MTA is only intended to run under XP and 2000. Oh, btw, I think I found a solution to your problem. I don't know if you saw it or not, but it's attached to the end of my previous post.

GTA 3's not very popular at the moment, but that's likely to change with the release of MTA 0.4. Also, GTA 3 uses a much much older core than Vice City's, so this may have something to do with it. Edit: I think I know what the problem is. Sometimes MTA causes an Exception Error, and by default XP is set to restart automatically on errors (for some unknown reason). To switch this off, go to Start > Control Panel > System and click on the Advanced tab. Now click on Settings under Startup and Recovery and deselect Automatic Restart under the System failure heading.

I used to have something like that, and it was due to a memory problem. It turned out that I had put in a new expansion card and when I pressed it in, the RAM popped slightly out. However, I think your problem might have something to do with you using a non-English version of XP.

Forum Lag/Forum Down General

Ah, such is life. The police are always quick to flag you down if you're speeding, but they never say stop you and say "Hey mate, the way you took that corner was well crucial!" Oh, and keep up the good work Wojjie. -
I think it's intended so that admins can see for themselves if someone is obviously cheating, e.g. flying cars. In order to test for more subtle cheating, e.g. health hacks, it would be best for the admin to enter the game and actually fight the person.

Here is a link to the IRC channel: http://www.mtavc.com/irc.php You will need an IRC client - I recommend mIRC - http://www.mirc.com If it's a respectable site, the admins can contact someone in charge and ask them to remove the offending content. If, however, it's a warez site or some elite cheating ring, then I'm not sure that a simple cease and desist will have much sway, unfortunately.

The trouble is, if the admins agree with you and clear their banlists, that will only affect the official servers. The admins on the official servers generally have a lot more experience of cheaters and so are less likely to ban unnecessarily than an enthusiastic first-timer on another server.
-
Oh, it's a fake one. I see now. Very nice though, especially the sky. Looks a lot like Half-Life 2.
-
Oh, I thought core updates affected the server as well
-
Cool, is your wallpaper from Real GTA? I've heard about it but I've never seen any screenies. Looks good though.
-
That's ok. Thanks for considering it. Who knows, maybe in 2-cores time it'll be possible *crosses fingers*
-
Yeah, I meant thanks for looking into it.
-
Thanks. It's bad enough playing standard deathmatch games with 2-3 people, let alone a game with a map size as large as GTA's.

It doesn't matter if Robpol's at work or not, posting porn pics is against the rules of the forum, so it makes no difference what you or others "believe".

So you're saying that cheat protection isn't good? To me, that is the most gameplay improving feature possible. Also, the aiming's a lot better, so the game will be a lot easier, and it will be a lot easier to spot cheaters because of this. I wouldn't have said that 1 in 25 stay because the rest get "bored and angry because it's lagging". The "lag" effect is in part due to the aiming system, where the receiving computer doesn't realise that it's being hit. But as aiming is improved, this will be less of an issue. Perhaps they don't have time to play often (I don't), but don't forget the people in other timezones who play it as well. You ask for more changes, yet I think what you mean is "more exciting changes". You have to remember that this is a beta and is thus buggy. Bug fixes must be a priority. Take GTAT, for example. That has loads of features such as boats, etc, but by all accounts it crashes frequently and is really buggy. The team do have bigger ideas, but they must get the core things fixed before being more adventurous. Also, how do you play for 5 months in just one day??

The maximum number of cars has currently been reached. I don't know if you know this, but if you right-click whilst walking, it displays waypoints to vehicles on the radar. I like your avatar, btw, that's a good episode
-
Yeah, I know what you mean and the idea itself is quite cool, but I found it boring on Quake 3 when you're waiting around for your turn (but this factor doesn't seem to deter people from Counter-Strike, so maybe it could work).

I personally would love bots, as I've always preferred playing over a LAN to the internet (faster, easier to discuss team tactics, etc). However, I don't reckon bots should be worked on by the team, as it would take up a large amount of their valuable time. Perhaps an extra member could be drafted for this purpose alone.

I can't see any reason why GTA 3 wouldn't have spectator mode as well. And yeah, I tried it and hated the start MTA, start game, alt+tab, click start game on MTA dialog, maximise game routine in order to connect. It was a real pain in the arse That's why I'm really looking forward to MTA 0.4.
-
Yeah, I thought it was a large increase from the previous version
-
Oohh... that won't go down well with prospective admins
