Yeah, I can imagine it being pretty cool, especially in stunt mode. But I asked if it could be disabled because I can also see it causing a heck of a lot of problems. But actually, now I come to think of it, spectator mode could be adapted for this purpose.
-
Hmmm.... can't you disable F1 in future versions then?
-
Actually, VB does use Unicode. That's why the Unicode ChrW$ is faster than Chr$. Anyway, every anti-cheat protection method has its own circumvention method. eAi's might not be up to the standards of stuff like PunkBuster, but it's a darn sight better than the protection built into MTA (which accused me of using a trainer when I pressed F1 by mistake and it played the replay, I indignantly add )

It'd be good if they made the server into a console where you could type commands to change things, as opposed to the "static" way it is now.
-
Oh god no. It'd just turn into deathmatch. I already get people running me over when I'm trying to find a car.
-
Yeah, very suitable for GTA though. One thing I'm not sure about is how would the "team" drive the bus? One person could drive and the others could get on as passengers, but everyone else is doing nothing.

E3 = Electronic Entertainment Expo. It's basically a big show where publishers show off their latest games to journalists. There are many contenders to the throne, such as ECTS.
-
Then why are you on the MTA Team if you are going to whine about how much work you have to do? Effective Anti-Cheat is a very necessary thing, and if you can do it, then please do. This is much better than putting all of your faith into the miracle 0.4 core. I think he meant that the workload would be huge in addition to what he does for MTA. Wouldn't it be easier to perhaps reach some sort of agreement with PunkBuster?

...hence the "Suggestions" forum description: "Got any ideas for upcoming versions of MTA? Post them here!"

GTA 3:MTA 0.3.5: What happened to that? It sounds quite good

Bit too late now

Yes there's something on your tv. DUST Not necessarily. He might have one of those new-fangled dust filters fitted to his house, kind of like the ones that they have in microchip manufacturing plants. He probably has to wear protective clothing as well to ensure that no dust or germs can get on his TV.

You don't have to disable it - just open up the necessary ports for UDP traffic.
-
Don't radio stations run off the CD? If so, that would be affected by a no-CD crack.
-
Also, make sure that that port is open if you have a firewall / router, as people open the game port and forget the other one.

I find that very unlikly that two people who use the same forum both have the same IP within a couple of days.eAi Unlikely, certainly, but not impossible. Anyway, I like to consider both sides to an argument before forming a conclusion. -
Wouldn't it be easier to spider the servers? Although you'd need a static list as ASE protect their masters as far as I'm aware.

I don't see what difference it makes to you. In fact, it gets you off the hook because they're blaming someone else. However, you and [FBI]Mac-10 might have dynamic IPs with the same ISP, which could explain it. -
I'm not on the MTA team, but they have better things to do 1. Download either the Win32 or the Linux server (depending on your OS) from the link on the homepage (in the blue box near the top). 2. After you've unzipped it to wherever (it doesn't matter), open up mtaserver.conf in Notepad. 3. The file is well commented, so it's just a case of changing the data to fit your needs (i.e. changing the server name, number of players, etc). 4. Run the MTAServer0.3.1.exe file. If you want to join the server yourself from that machine, run the MTA client and type "localhost" into the IP box.

It's quite slow - I typed something and it took him ages to respond.

Yeah, everyone gets that every so often. I hope it's fixed in 0.4.

One word: Spam. I think threads should be locked if they haven't had a reply for x amount of days. Is there a script that could do this automatically?

1. eAi expressed his opinion. Therefore it is not "wrong" if it differs from yours. 2. Why on earth does it matter? If you don't like GTA 3, don't play it. 3. Because MTA is currently limited to just 26 players (and hardly any servers support the full 26), smaller maps are better for the moment. You can fit 32 players into a lot of Unreal Tournament maps, and they're way smaller than the GTA ones. 4. In my opinion, because Vice City is set in the '80s and GTA 3 is set in the present, from a gameplay perspective VC seems older. 5. Obviously there aren't many people playing it now because the current GTA 3 core is much less advanced than the VC one. But when MTA 0.4 is released, I think you'll be surprised how many people will play GTA 3. Also bear in mind that some people will play it over a LAN and others will just not advertise it on ASE. Er... I do not understand that statement at all. What difference does it make if they test it or not? They are being asked to give their unbiased opinion and they have done so. You're perfectly entitled to vote for Vice City. The most servers I've seen on ASE are 5. However, as explained in point no. 5, GTA 3:MTA has a really dodgy way of connecting to a server which many n00bs wouldn't be able to handle. Well, we have a poll to prove that people will play GTA 3. What statistical evidence do you have that proves your point? And also, however important you may think you are, you do not represent the entire opinions of your country.
