Unfortunately not. GTA 3:MTA is pretty old and the way you start a game is annoying and difficult for newbies. However, MTA 0.4 is on the horizon, which combines both GTA 3 and VC into a single client. As can be seen by various polls on the forum, there are likely to be a lot more servers for GTA 3 when this comes out.

I remember hearing somewhere that some machines have different home addresses (hardly any, but a few). Also localhost is easier to remember than a string of numbers.

I very much doubt it - not in the forseeable future anyway. I don't know much about Macs, but the memory hacking wouldn't work in the same way (if at all), so all code would need to be completely rewritten from scratch. (I didn't even know that there were Mac versions of GTA 3 / VC). Anyway, I'm sure the developers will be able to elaborate on this further.

It is asked that people post in English because that is the language that the majority of forum users and moderators understand. To join your own server, fire up the MTA client and put your IP as "localhost" (without " marks obviously). To find the server with the client, you will need All Seeing Eye (http://www.udpsoft.com). I have had some reports of not being able to find the server whilst on the server itself, but other people should be able to. I doubt they would ever be joined together because the extra code required would increase the memory usage of both significantly.

What annoys me is that you have to pay the monthly fee plus £30 for the game.
