Regardless of whether you are Blaze or not, having a "number one cheaters" thread will actually encourage cheating. Many virus writers were encouraged by the media attention that the Blaster worm got, to the extent that people are being flooded with viruses now. And the media's shown spammers driving Ferraris, encouraging people to start spamming (hey, it is tempting, I'll admit).
The current trend is "social engineering" which as you rightly say relies on you opening attachments. Other viruses work on security flaws in Windows and other programs to propagate without your knowledge.
And I find that rolling back actually makes the problem worse. That's another quality Microsoft product then.
On topic:
The problem with your suggestion KFG is that someone could plant a Trojan on someone else's PC and get their DNA ID. Sending data like that is never foolproof because packets can be spoofed.
Yeah, a lot of "other" governments don't take cyber crime seriously. I've noticed that a large proportion of viruses come from Russia, so I reckon that Russia should be disconnected from the rest of the world until they can sort the problems out. It's perfectly fair because our governments and corporations pay billions each year on patching and flushing out viruses.
I don't know about that.
They don't take donations, so they're heads can't be too "big".
Bah, money only takes you so far. Reputation and self-satisfaction takes you the rest of the way.
From the FAQ:
I presume that MTA uses the same query port as the game port, which would be 2003 in most cases.
If you have a firewall or router, you will need to open ports 27243,27244,27245 for UDP and TCP and 2003 (for UDP only I presume).
Yep, I can't wait for the new core, although it seems strange to start on the next version before the current version is out (i.e. 0.4).
It'd be nice, but there's no way you can make it impossible. I've heard a lot of cheaters say that they can't be bothered to hack or cheat UT2004 because it's too much effort (not that it's impossible).
I think you're thinking of a different topic...
I remember on one of the dev movies they showed one-hit kills with cars, but there was some debate as to whether it would make it to the final release or not.
It seems to me that if you're so intelligent, you'd:
1. Be able to think of countless creative ways of amusing yourself
2. Understand that this is a beta and is still in development
The "typical MTA user"? If you had an IQ over 50, you'd understand that there are no "typical users" - there are only people who feel the need to label everything and everyone.
Despite the fact that you say that you like the concept, you appear to have missed the point entirely and I am tired of explaining simplistic things to stupid n00bs.
That's probably because MTA doesn't have a built-in serverlist. You need to use the All Seeing Eye: http://www.udpsoft.com
He wants to be a hacker when he grows up...
If he ever grows up...
1. What about the non-cheaters who can't string a sentence together?
2. If the game is harder, surely there is more incentive to cheat?
3. The reason that these games don't have many cheaters is because they're niche games (i.e. non-mainstream appeal) and don't have many players.
There'll have to be more frequent loading points for PS2 users for sure. Hopefully Rockstar won't be lazy with their conversion this time around and optimise it for modern PCs.
You can't get ASE to work? Have you opened the necessary ports on your router / firewall if you have one? (see the FAQ or manual on the ASE site and it should tell you which ports it uses)
