Very true. I've always noticed that the MTA team don't like to tinker with the core gameplay, as they remain true to the original premise of bringing multiplayer to GTA and not GTA to multiplayer. Edit: Damn Vendetta, beat me to it.
-
To be fair, only the top screen looks like Mafia. But it does have that brown tint to the engine, I'll agree.
-
Yeah, I'll buy it definitely. But SA will be out at roughly the same time so it's pure speculation as to how it will compare. They're very similar, but maybe D3's cinematic polish will win over fans - who knows?
-
Yep, it will be for the PC. But it'll have stiff competition from San Andreas and NFS Underground 2 (the driving sections).
-
I didn't really like Driver 1 (and Driver 2 never came out for PC). It was too... console-ish if you know what I mean. But with Driver 3 sporting GTA gameplay, people who disliked the original (me) are sitting up and taking notice.
-
Yeah, that's a good argument. So good in fact that I can't think of anything to counter it.
-
I didn't take sides, hence I said "whilst not wanting to take sides". I DO know what's going on, and that's that you're protesting your innocence, KFC are protesting your guilt and you two will NEVER reach a conclusion. Edit: The MTA forums are free for all forum members to use. If you want to have a private discussion, you should use the KFC or ULK forums. Edit2: Wasn't this BleedNKuntz's thread originally anyway?

The big question is: Has it got multiplayer? (And I mean real multiplayer not laughable half-assed multiplayer like in True Crime)
-
What time period is it set in? It looks remarkably like Mafia except that Mafia was set in the 1930s and this looks more like the '50s (?)

Whilst not wanting to take sides, Vendetta is correct in what he says. Lag would cause you to skip but still be in the same place as a non-laggy person would be after running. With a speedhack, you'd be displaced further. Also, I'm getting pretty tired of reading this (and you must be getting tired of posting), and I can't see either party agreeing with the other, even if you go on for 25 pages. Hence this is pretty pointless and I hope you'll understand when I say: Lock request

That's the text parser for ya. Available practically everywhere and for almost every single msg board. To get >1 spaces through, I think you'd have to manually change that from the board's settings, or use the invisible text method. I thought that was an Internet Explorer thing because in my n00b web design days I would often try to align things with multiple spaces ( ) only to find that IE would only count them as one space (and presumably other browsers too). But it's too much hassle going to all sorts of trouble to get round it when it was just a simple demonstration.

Also people who use mods tend to lag the server. I don't know if this happens with vehicle mods.
-
It's best not to make exceptions and say that all mods are disallowed. I always think that you should make a rule and stick to it.

No, the ones I get are Document.zip and the .doc.exe is inside the zip. That's how they get past Hotmail virus scanning because for some reason it doesn't scan zips.
-
You can. There are two radio buttons at the bottom left hand corner: Just set it to "posts" and it should work.
-
I sometimes download the zip files and open them (but don't run the exe files obviously) just to see how genuine-looking they are. I'm particularly fond of the way they call it "Documents.doc .exe" so that the ".exe" bit gets cut off by the column. Edit: Damn IE - there are meant to be about 20 spaces in between ".doc" and ".exe".
-
I'd like to think that, really I would. But the majority of the world is stupid and gullible and many people gladly click on them despite the fact that someone they don't know is sending them "the information you requested". If you don't fall into the category of people who click on them, consider yourself blessed as you're in a minority. They are getting more and more genuine-looking though.
-
Er... no... I was talking about the radio stations (but like I said, I'm not encouraging it - just questioning why he's asking us).
-
If I've said this once, I've said this a thousand times: Is Google really that difficult to use? (not that I'm condoning this activity)
-
It seems to me that it would be on the CD... but the way you phrase it implies that you haven't got one i.e. it's cracked. If so, that's the reason why your game crashes.
-
Oooh... they won't like that. Can you get chat? If so, then it's unlikely to be a port problem as data is being sent and received. http://support.mtavc.com Yeah, it's because it searches the whole topic rather than one post. And you can't use quotes either. I tried searching for something to help this guy too but I gave up in the end.

Oh, I see. I remember Blokker saying ages ago that there was to be multiple languages for the site but I never heard any more about that. Anyone know what happened?
-
Are you running Windows XP or 2000?
-
Erm... are you saying that you're planning to make a mod for MTA and you want permission? Or something? Edit: Does "situated Italian" mean an Italian version of the client? Maybe?
-
Well, if you take Vass, Jon, and myself, and give them a problem, just let us spam like mad and we'll eventually hit a solution... Are you referring to me? If so, I've left this one spam-free so far (why is there a "devil" emoticon and not an "angel" one?).
