Well, the server only acts as a relay, all the work is done by the client...the server says "oh look, some data...here clients take some data YAY" It is almost blind to whats going on. By making it a hub it ensures that all users get the same data (usually) from each other player. Using a ring might cause who knows what chaos on pings. ...and i think they were looking into including some type of protection in the new core, up til then, grab a heli and make it do that dance o' death, woo. And i'm sure 2 official servers are strain enough, some people have admin rights other than devs, but even at that it's tough to keep em admin'ed. I'm not a dev tho, i'm sure one will be along to clarify with exact details lol.

THAT is why they still exist lol, the whole "distributed for educational purposes" deal...vice is the only game i've ever used one on tho, because even WITH a full install, it still tries to read off the damned cd...which on a laptop doesn't go over well when i'm trying to blast somebody

on two people tho? that's a bit unlikely, besides, nikateen had that handle, i was in there not too long before this banning. Nazgul also banned one of my members for cheating, but they just had a high ping. Perhaps someone should be taught how to determine cheating, ne?

I'd agree, for those who don't, they could even use daemon tools to load up an iso they made of the second disc...waste of space i guess tho.

One place here in my little rural town was going out of business due to a blockbuster moving in, and his store honestly did suck balls...he was bitching about business one day, and i told him jokingly to put in a LAN for kids to play on while parents shopped at the local albertsons... two weeks later he invested and put a 10 pc lan in the back of the store... now he hardly sells any videos, but he's practically a daycare lol Well, I honestly don't know if it helps, but anything to set you apart from the crowd. Edit -- i decided to call the place, turns out he changed primarily to a lan place and runs 30 pcs now...so perhaps it is a bad example...and i should've gotten something for making him a good business dammit lol

Well, sometimes its also packet loss to your pc, they HAVE fallen, and might stop on your screen, but do not appear to fall...after a second the will go from standing to the floorm and get up. Or it could just be old fashioned lag where you are shooting behind them...its like duck hunting, add lots of lead the higher the ping lol

My dsl company bitched about my bandwidth usage, i told them to bite me i PAYED for what i have...if i care to use it 24/7 at 100%, i damn well will...the contract said NOTHING about it, so it can only be assumed by the current contract the i can , sno neenerneenerneener to verizons pos service. But yeah, i coldn't imagine mta on 56k...it must be like walking around as a ghost lol

they'd have to sync empty cars tho first i would think...i assume your bomb would have influence on your screen, but on theirs they control the car, unless maybe the server sent a "switch" to every players client saying :"hey this thing is rigged!"

Adding objects is about impossible right now, they've pretty much pushed the engine to it's limits. As for scripts, maybe if you are good at mirc scripting you could put something together, check the addons section for MTAMA

I'm always up for a good tech challenge, altho the help requests seem to have really calmed down pertaining to the client itself right now. Last few help threads I've seen were server questions which I'm not so hot at lol. But then again I do know some networking stuff that's helped out before. Come .4 this could al change tho hehe.

lol make a thread in general and bicker about it you guys ;P anyhoo, wiggum and someone else who slipped my mind were speedhacking up a storm...I was on the west island by the southernmost bridge, he hit the barrier by the water on a pcj, and his body was launched onto the tower of the birdge. I don't believe he was using a jetpack mod either...lol

Lets see, if i remember correctly 2 full blows from the cop does abotu 40-50 damage, i'd just pop them twice (once starts knocking them down, second hits before they fall) then wait for them to get up and repeat, one or two falls should do it

only thing i don't like about that idea, is when you are stranded...with no cars in sight, you'd have to half run half walk, thatd be rather annoying.

Me and kagato had been playing for hours in elrods extreme server, along side audigy, as many should know we don't cheat, and hell audigy killed us both many a time lol. Anyhoot, someone said something along the lines of "you are cool people, and audigy hates cool people" seconds later we were kick/banned. To anyone who might be an admin to elrods, please unban me (I will pm the ip later) Only reason i made a thread was because i was curious if anyone else had encountered this from audigy...i've seen him get upset before...but we had done absolutely nothing to offend him, at least not intentionally. Thx
