It wouldn't be a bad idea. The possibility of downloading a virus would be the same as downloading a virus through any other game. Xenex is trying to think of an excuse to say no

I think what Lukeo wanted was for their to be an xbox version of MTA, not just to get MTA to run on an xbox. That is a completely different story, and at the moment no such thing exists. It would probably take a lot of work to get that to work, and it may not even be worth it at all. Lukeo: Why do you want to run MTA on your xbox? Do you only have the xbox GTA? If your PC can run Vice City, then there is no reason to use your xbox instead. Your PC is probably much better than your xbox. Besides, who would want to code MTA for some Micro$hit console system anyway?

WineX wasn't exactly what I was thinking. I was thinking maybe Virtual PC or Win4Lin, which actually allow you to run the Windows operating system itself, not try to let you run Windows applicatons completely through Linux. I don't know exactly how MTA works, but judging from the fact it doesn't run on Windows 98, it has to do with the operating system. So, lets say I do load the official Windows 2000 through Virtual PC or something similar, it may be possible to load MTA as well. Because a complete Windows environment would be loaded, I would think MTA would work fine. Windows operating system being run through Win4Lin: http://www.netraverse.com/customers/screenshots/ Of course, for an xbox, that could be a completely different story because of its hardware, but heck, guess we'll never know until someone tries ;-D

You should rename this topic because the title does not tell what the message is about. Maybe if your title told about the problem, say "Deleted Servers in ASE List", anyone else with the same problem would immedietely be able to find the solution.

The CRC Check fails? You aren't using any trainers, are you? I suggest you uninstall Vice City and reinstall. That should remove any modified material in your Vice City folder.

Really they are pretty much the same thing, the so-called "server" versions just come with additional software such as Microsoft IIS (/me gags).

The Xbox uses a 700 Mhz Celeron/ Pentium III processor, I think. If Windows 2000 is emulated through xbox linux, it may work. My friend used to have a 700 MHz Pentium III processor, and Vice City played fine.

hellcat: Did you have the GeForce3 card installed when you first installed Vice City? If you did, you might want to try deleting gta-vc.set, located in My Documents\GTA User Files\ I had a friend who installed Vice City using older drivers or another video card or something. After he deleted gta-vc.set, his Vice City video card settings were reset, and he was able to play.

How fast was this person going? I have noticed that if you have a good frame rate, you go faster.

I notice the Matrix is composed of backwards Japanese characters

Well this is a first for me. I have never heard anyone say that before.

Yes, sir. Sailors are awesome. You don't have to worry about crashing your vehicle or falling off of a building because you will regenerate health.

Maybe some don't have more than one computer.

In ASE, stunt servers are listed as gametype: Vice City Stunt.
-
This is kind of along the lines of what I said in another thread. But, it got locked without even giving a reason
-
I don't really consider map mods as a very bad thing.
-
XP is better. There is really no reason not to get XP. Like Blokker said, if your computer is capable of running Vice City, it will be able to run XP.
-
I know this is far out there, but would it be possible for the server to run map mods (meaning the server serving a mod to the clients) that would be downloaded to the clients and run? These maps would have to be loaded while you are on a server that is running them and disabled when you quit mta/join another server.

I don't like the idea of someone being taken off of the radar if they are alt-tabbed. If you gave someone who is alt-tabbled an icon on the radar you would know to stay away from that person. I find the alt-tab feature very useful; I can go back and forth between IRC and GTA without worrying about someone killing me. An icon would put a stop to people whining about alt-tabbers, because you would KNOW they are alt-tabbed. Removing them from the radar would open up the same possibility.

Free Web Pages for Everyone!!!!! Fix your links, please

That happened to me once. I killed the person, ran up and took all of his weapons, and then he started moving. No problems, though, I just killed him again
-
Maybe some kind of icon on the radar to indicate alt-tabbed players. Even better, an icon above there head if you see them.
