Apparently GTAt is a touchy subject for the people of this forum, but I'll give it to ya straight. GTAt is about to release their new version, 0.5, which will have more features than MTA as it is now. Unfortunately, there is no Linux server for GTAt Really, it all depends on what you think. Try both of them out and see which is liked better.

It seems to me that this is all about your reputation, not your nickname. One thing you might want to try explaining is why someone is even taking your nickname in the first place. Why would you involve yourself with someone like that, even if for a short period of time? Someone stupid enough to try and steal your nickname and smear your reputation (Kind of a dumb idea)? I see no problem here. This problem has just enough possibility of happening in any other game. Having reserved nicknames would only work on one server, yours, and going beyond that would be rediculous.

The majority of the people I have come across have been the whining 12-year-olds who can't type and are forced to use "u,r,gr8," etc. Ahh man, these kids used to be all over Battle.net, and they were a pain in the butt. That is why I moved to Half-Life. No whining b.net kids. And here they are in MTA. When I'm trying to chat with my friends, the window gets spammed with "ur cheating!", "y cant i kill u?", "haha ur a n00b", "ur a cheater". FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Can't anyone have a decent game without all of this whining?

What do you mean by this? Your webserver host or your internet provider?

There really is nothing wrong with it as long as you don't use it to cheat. People crash if they ride with the person on a modded section. Unmodded, I have not crashed as a result of other people using map mods (Only when I am riding passenger with them and they are on a modded part of the level aka I'm floating). A map mod doesn't give the user any sort of advantage whatsoever. It is not like they are spawning a minigun. If you ask me, I think that you guys are just trying to find something to blame for your crashes.

Can you tell me exactly why something that removes cd checking would interfere with MTA? Does MTA use anything that the normal exe has that the cracked exe doesn't?

Having to register just to view the topics is a big turn off.

It would be cool if it worked like mutators. Download the mod, backup files, install the mod, play, disconnect from server, uninstall mod with original files.
