Chances are it is a path problem or some of your files are messed up. I would get a fresh install of GTA:VC, remove all occurences of MTA altogether, and start from the base.

Well, instead of spouting this stuff in public areas, how about you PM with and work together with us to try and break cheating, since it does not help anyone. We are not hackers, and we only have so much of the things that hackers can do. So if someone that can break what we have done works with us, we can truly have a great product that is as cheat free as can be.

The MTA Team proudly announces the release of an updated version of Multi Theft Auto: Vice City which adds extensive multiplayer functionality to GTA: Vice City. MTA:VC 0.3 introduces the long-anticipated walking and running animations, a refined aiming system for improved accuracy, more extensive anti-cheat / trainer prevention, numerous bug fixes including the back wheel lock and weapon sync as well as a few changes to the stunt mode. As many of you have already figured out, the release of MTA:VC 0.3 is extremely near. We will be placing the Server downloads (Win32 Server, Linux Server, Server Admin, Server Config) up in the next few minutes with the Client downloads to follow shortly thereafter (with an appropriate news post of course). NOTE: Please be advised that the MTA:VC 0.3 Client CRC / Filesize checks many additional files and therefore it would be best to start from a fresh install of GTA:VC (to avoid any problems at a later date). So, giddy up.

We unfortunately cannot remove all of the crashes with the current Core technology (just can't be done). We hope we have reduced the amount (as with our tests some people never crash), but there are no promises.

Everything related to the 0.4 Core is still in the research & development phase, so anything is possible. In the end, we may have a completely different system, we may use this one, we may use what we have. Who knows, no promises.

If you plan on letting outside connections (Internet), then you will have to run the Server on your Linux Box and open up the appropriate ports. If you are planning to just keep it LAN, then just run it on one of your LAN's computer, connect to localhost for the "Server" computer, and the LAN IP for the rest of the Computers.

Just to clear things up, most of what Blokker posted in the news post is for the next core release (Core 0.4), and NOT 0.3. However, 0.3 also includes more cheat prevention and trainer detection, but nothing that can't be broken given time. We have tried our best with 0.3 to prevent cheating, but we also realize that with the old Core technology (0.3), we cannot eliminate cheating altogether (we just don't have the ability to block everything that we need to). So, let's hope we block the cheaters for a good amount of time with the release of 0.3, so those who actually enjoy playing MTA for the fun of it can enjoy it ... as you are the ones that we are making this for.

Right now, no ... but we can't guarantee anything and this is one of the animations that we are looking for (so, it is possible for sure).

Problems still exist, and may always exist, with the Australian version. We have tried to fix them once already, and we were able to get a little bit further, but not completely fixed.

If you don't know where to start, then I would not even advise looking. Would be better for you to create tools to support MTA (check the Addons forum).

There really isn't anything new to show via screenshots, as the majority of the new / fixed features must be seen in motion (we will not release animation screenshots that show nothing more then still images like another mod, no names mentioned). Just ... wait

He has no more information than anyone else, so he is just spouting his opinions ... so take them just as that and nothing more.

As Black_Dragon said, those papers are in GTA3 as well. We have kept the game as true to the original as we could ... and it is real real close, believe me.

Client is based off of 0.2.2, so it looks almost completely the same (if not entirely). As for the players, of course we cannot guarantee anything until release as it may go up or down depending on what we encounter along the way. But, for now we are aiming for 32 ... so keep your fingers crossed for atleast that.

Username can be anything you want (it is only ever really used for logging purposes). So, just put any Username in the Server Admin, and the proper password, and you should be good to go.

I must say, riding as passenger in the Dodo with MrBump flying was quite enjoyable, since I have never really had a good flight in it (I suck at trying to fly it).
