    Um, if you want to play gta3, use the gta3 version, if you want to play vice city, use the vice city version. Its that simple. eAi
  3. So, Matt (aetas), comes on here to tell us that there is code in the piece of old source code he has that was stollen from us that breaches an EULA? I personally can't think of any people who have left the MTA team in a disgruntled way for maybe over a year? That makes the source code he has kind of ancient... So, either hes stupid, or hes posting this here to get some atention, or perhaps he tried to decompile our software? As for you saying that, because we're a mod of another game, its fine to hack our code around. ITS NOT. We put huge ammounts of work into this project, and to get the desierd effects is considerably harder than it would be if you were modding a game like half-life or UT... In no case is it legal to break the EULA, don't try to kid yourself, we put a lot of work, time and concequently money into this mod, and we don't want people coming here and quoting EULAs at us when they've broken the law themselves. If you've got a valid point, then fine, but MTA has never had any JPEG code included directly in it, to my knowledge, so you're just wasting everyones time. eAi
  4. Rebooting computer problems (in MTA) are always with ATI Radeons with out of date drivers. Go to the ati website and get the latest drivers. eAi
  5. As we don't do any jpeg stuff in MTA, we can only assume the jpeg stuff you're seeing is from directx, which is covered by its own licence... eAi

Prokopis, I don't think your rant is at all justified, but anyway, all MrBump meant by "but of course you know better than the team right?" that sparked off that rant, was that we have the source, we wrote it, so we know its problems. Its entirely possible we're loosing some packets over udp, but I don't think Bump is the best one to comment on such things (not me, as I've not done any old-core dev work), so maybe someone else on the team can clear this up later. eAi

You have to remember you're playing 0.3 beta, i'm sure you realise what a beta is, I just have to remind you, that anti-cheat isn't and shouldn't be #1 on our agenda, until we have a finished game, as making a fun game is more important than preventing people abusing it (no-one would play if it wasn't fun).eAi

I imagine it'll be out on PC pretty much exactly 6 months after PS2, i don't know, but i'd imagine R* have a contract of some sort that says they won't release the game on any other platform for 6 months... Who knows, perhaps they'll do a XBox port at the same time, now that they've "tested the water" with the double pack. eAi

  18. 0.4 is our "next release". Our main reasons why 0.4 is taking so damn long is a) We're working very hard on the new core b) We keep adding features to 0.4. Anyway, it'll be done soon. eAi
