*mod edit* deleted spam b4 this so this post sounds weird *me edit* It used to say "And the team too!" here, I can't remember why though. eAi

AMD makes Durons because they're cheap, and some people want cheap things with high numbers... Also, companies like Dell can sneak them into their computers without anyone noticing the "Duron" bit. eAi

As has been said before, we're currently working on 0.4 and the new core. The new core is a huge project, so concequently, we're putting quite a lot of work into that, so that people don't have to wait months for the transition between the two. Concequently, 0.4 isn't developed as fast as it could be, if the whole team was working on it. We'll get it finished soon, almost there eAi

It might freeze for a few seconds... try waiting like 30 seconds and see if it still does it... eAi

I don't really know what you're talking about, but I'd imagine that both this program and MTA work in the same way, so they won't work at once. They probably both use CreateProcesss so that they can inject their own code to override the full screen aspect, concequently both apps can't create the process, only one or the other. eAi

I can see the point of the original poster, the current MTA doesn't have too much "point", hence why I don't play it, but we hope the new core will not only make it a much better multiplayer game, but also allow us a lot more flexibility for the adding of "point". Anyway, If you don't like MTA now, don't give up, check back in a few weeks of months, and see if we've got the "point". eAi

Its possible for MTA to know when the game is paused, but it probably won't be implemented until the new core. eAi

You've got to remember that we're like 5-10 guys doing this in our spare time, we'd love to be able to write our own networkable AI, but as it stands, we don't have the expertise or the time to do it, as well as perfecting all the other areas of the game. As it is, we're working on two things at once, the new core and 0.4, both of which are complex enough without bringing in complications eAi

This has been suggested, as GTA has no built in commands like this, we'd have to develop that ourselves, somthing that will be possible with the new core. Again, this is hard, as the map is in the menu, and not overlayed over the game, probably won't do this. Channels? We've reached the limit of the engine, there are methods we could use to "fake" it, but these wouldn't be worth implementing till be have a better core to work off. This has been suggested over and over, and its not going to happen. _Maybe_ we'll have some NPCs possible with the new core, but we'll have to see. Not easy to do, as theres no generic mouse input in VC, might be somthing for the future though, in some shape or form. Well, we're not going to tottally get rid of lag, but it should improve a lot... Again, this is hard Maybe in the future, been suggested before. We're working on a stable core before we implement propper game modes. What? We can't currently sync the firing of sniper riffles or rocket launchers. um ok. No. The weapons will stay as they are in SP, at least for the moment (this has been suggested, use search). The current core has problems with syncing boats. No vehicle in GTA can take more than 4 players. All the key binds are customizeable, using the cfg file. We've already had the features of 0.4 locked down for a few months, so they're not going to appear in 0.4.eAi

Sounds like a good idea to me, maybe you could send out notifications of special events, e.g. new version releases. eAi

well u'd obviously use it! u friggin made it! I never use it myself as I never play MTA, i'm just trying to be helpful, unlike everyone else here...eAi

Locked because it was bumped from 9 months ago. eAi

If you're having problems with ASE, I'd use http://www.mtaservers.com instead, with my mta:// protocol handler http://www.mtaservers.com/files/mtaph.zip eAi

MTA Programmers Ever think of expanding the use of MTA?
eAi replied to conrad10781's topic in General MTA discussion
Well you can obviously have 56K shared over a network if you wished... that'd have an ethernet output. eAi -
I didn't do nothing. I don't even know if I can do such funky things as reseting post counts... eAi

MTA Programmers Ever think of expanding the use of MTA?
eAi replied to conrad10781's topic in General MTA discussion
We'd obviously like to expand MTA, but it really isn't that easy because: a) we've only got a limited ammount of time to spend on MTA. b) Most of the team don't have xboxes. c) Um... thats about it. The fact of the matter is, theres more to life than MTA (i haven't found it yet, but thats what people keep telling me), and we can't spend our whole life doing it. I personally haven't a clue how Xboxes work, though I expect its similar to PCs (being Microsoft), but remember, MTA relies on a fairly fragile system that PCs have, and XBoxes probably don't support (as they're not designed to be flexible). eAi -
The MySQL (database) system thingy crashed earlier and had to be restarted, perhaps some data was lost in that process. eAi
-
We can't really ask anyone else, because what we're doing with vice city has never been done on a game before, therefore the standard rules of game making tend not to apply the same (obviously many do though)... Lag in VC is mostly caused by the fact that, this is a beta, so the netcode is not perfected and various client side things. eAi
-
The more the matter is discussed, the more it is promoted. eAi

This has been suggested many times: http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... ight=wonid http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... ight=wonid Its obviously not practical as R* didn't give out unique serial numbers, so we have no way to differentiate reliably between user A and user B. In the future, we may be able to implement a system for this, but it'd have to be pretty complex to be of any use, and to authenticate users would require a dedictated server = money (which we don't have). eAi

Pick any board from http://developer.intel.com/design/motherbd/products.htm ... they all have AGP slots. eAi
