SA system requirements even state that you need Windows 2000 or XP so supporting 9x is of no use

can't you force the game to run on a single core?

How to get the server to say something when someone enter?
Blokker_1999 replied to CookieMonster's topic in Race Server-side
You need an external application for that that uses the MTA admin protocol. I don't know if there is any app or script that does this at the moment. -
this is a forum section for MTA problems specific problems. This is a driver problem, maybe a windows problem, possibly a GTA problem but deffinatly not an MTA problem.

the SA admin protocol does not send any player statistics. The only thing send is ADMIN_PLAYER_DEATH

i think if you'll search the forums you will find other scripts like these. And also log file parsers that can show statistics from players and weapons and stuff

maybe your firewall is the problem ... and .Net2 is not mainstream yet and it will take time before it comes that far. I think .net will only really become mainstream after the mono project becomes a succes and.net code compiles on both Win and *nix

MTA isn't commercial and MTA isn't a game. MTA is a modification developed for free by a team. Since it is impossible for us to create an equal game speed amongst all players we have to artifficialy try to make one. The game speed of GTA verry much depends on the framerate. We see people often complaining about how someone else is faster then them and they can't catch up with him. This is one of the side effects of having a different frame rate. Having the frame limiter forced does bring some downsides for some people but in my opinion it was the best solution. Unless you can come up with another one? You just wait till you are a bit older. I have been working myself for 3,5 years now. And the first year or two i spend a lot ofmy money on computers. but those big spending days are over. I learned he value of money, especially know i need it to build my own house. there are better things to do with your money then to buy a new computer every year. With all the money i spend on computers the past years, i could have bought half the stones for my house.

No, use the ASE protocol, it's what http://www.game-monitor.com does.

if you look at the original post (and people, please read a post in total, not just the title or the first line) you see that he is asking for any way other than screen or forking the process.

apperantly we forgot to change that after the MTA:SA release, thanx for pointing it out.

off course not all maps are from the same quality. And we can not moderate the center itself. It is up to server admins to decide what they do, and due to the server bug you can not just download every map anyway since the server can only handle 256 maps at this moment. Voting never works, no matter what you do. People are also complaining about the map voting in the game and how bad it is. And having a vote at the end of each round is a bad thing. People would first have to login to the center trough the console, then they would get a popup after every map, and if a server is let's say destruction derby only then they would get the same request over and over again, off course you can do a check if someone has voted. But then we have another problem. At peak moments there are more then 1000 people playing in the public servers. That would mean a 1000 votes every few minutes. It is really doubtfull our server could handle something like that. We noticed what a couple of hundred people did when the countdown of mta:sa hit 0, our server was maxed out on it's 10mbit connection.

most of these tools are pre-installed. If you have root access you can try to follow the steps given in the instructions and just see if it compiles.

Computer Threatening problem linked to MTA
Blokker_1999 replied to Raziaar's topic in Race Client-side
This could never have been an MTAproblem since MTA loads nothing in your system folder or on startup of the computer. The only two explenations could have been: - hardware failure - driver failure and it seems the last one was what happend. When you have a problem like this, don't assume it is the software you installed that causes it. It would even be unlogical that MTA was the cause. If you check all the software that gets loaded when Windows starts you would had noticed that there was nothing from the MTA folder that got loaded. -
We did some work on footsync today and yesterday, and finally we did some testing within the team with 3 players today. We've created a new gamemode called 'deathmatch' for server and client with a pretty well designed framework. At the moment, it's not decided what kind of 'deathmatch' we will make officially, but it's very likely it will have support for our current map system built on what we've learned from "race" before and after release. Here are some screenshots from our initial test: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 What's synced? At the moment all animations work pretty well (including walking, running, crouching, climbing, punching ... ), though they aren't explicitly synced yet, means there's no 100% guarantee it looks exactly the same at both sides. Improving this, and weapon sync is something we will work from now on, so watch this space! Edit by Oli: We've just tried swimming and this seems to work fine too :)I've added another screenshot showing this.
