Try to contact rockstar, see if you can get a replacement disc.

We like to keep it legal.

the only thing i dislike is that red multi
-
GTA3 even hadmultiplayer menus and other stuff and GTA:LCS is playable online.

The problem in multiplayer is the bad sync. If the car (or in this case the hydra) 'jumps' to a different place for a fraction of a second you fall off.

[Blog] Why don't we know when we'll release it? (by eAi)
Blokker_1999 replied to Blokker_1999's topic in News
One of the major things to think about is the fact that many people that are first in line to ask for a release date or are pressing us to release even when it is bugged are also amongst the first to complain when things do go wrong. -
One of the things we get asked over and over again is when we'll be releasing. I'm sure many people understand why we can't say when, but for those that don't, read on. Developing a piece of software goes through 2 main stages before the release - feature implementation and bug fixing/tweaking. Our development process, like many other development teams, call these stages alpha and beta respectively. The alpha stage is the most predictable stage - its all about adding new features. In most cases we can estimate how long a feature will take to implement to within a day or two, although there are some exceptions of course. Now, say our road map for deathmatch feature-wise has around 20-30 features on it of varying degrees of complexity, you can see that if we estimated just when we would reach the beta stage, we could be around a month out with this estimate. You can see already this makes it hard for us to tell when the final product will be done. Beta stages can be even more unpredictable. You have to remember with MTA that we do not have the source code for GTA. If we cause a crash, or an unwanted result in GTA we have to work out how to fix it in the assembly (low level, not easy to understand) language for GTA. Almost every other software product, mod and game does not have to deal with this issue. As anyone who has done development will know, fixing bugs can be very time consuming, so again this can easily throw off any estimates we make for a release date. We know from past experience that the community is not forgiving for broken promises. As such we have tried to avoid making promises as much as possible. We know people want MTA: DM in their hands as soon as possible and we want to get it out ourselves. We could promise a release date far into the future, like many game publishers (for example Rockstar sat on GTA:SA for PC for several months before they released it although it was complete), but we do not think that having a firm release date is better than giving you MTA sooner. Of course, we welcome your opinion on this matter, just please don't ask us for release dates - we do our best to get you the best game possible as soon as possible, there's nothing you can do to help us (unless you're a developer, in which case speak to us on IRC or the forums).

The Blue core in itself is written to be verry modular and should be adaptable to any other game. However it would take a lot of work to port it to another game and there is no guarantee of succes. We prefer to work on GTA and get it stable and as functional as possible. Once we reached the end of the line we can start looking in to developing for other games. However in this stage of development it is not a good idea to start working on another game.

Today I added something small to the main site. It now shows a picture from our latest tests. We are going to update this picture on a regular basis. How often will depend on the number of pictures our QA team takes . I am also working on a new forum theme that is styled after the general site design. On another note, the ladder system will have to wait until a next MTA release since the rules and fair play require some small changes to MTA. This also gives me the time to expand on its functionality.

[fixed in hotfix] MTA 0.5 dedicated server exploit
Blokker_1999 replied to ijsf's topic in General MTA:VC
There is no update for VC. The 0.5.5 for VC is pretty bugged that we would have to start again from 0.4 . Also one of the reasons why we started developing on the Blue platform sooner then we planned in the first place. -
doesn't the standard suse repository carry this file?
-
pb uses a GUID based on the CD key.

When it is released.

gta_sa.exe cannot be found... where the hell is it??
Blokker_1999 replied to a topic in Race Client-side
MTA is a modification for the game and therefore requires the original. Modification is even a wrong name for it since we do not modify any file from the game, it's more like an add-on. -
It is not because no one can connect that the ip adress is wrong. If you have a router you need to foward some ports.
-
I do not think many people will give you admin access to their servers.

[REQUEST] MTA SA Race: Map making: Higher object limit
Blokker_1999 replied to SkeeterPSA's topic in Suggestions
as has been stated before (yes, this forum has a search function) the object limit is in place to keep the game playable for all. The more objects you place on a map the more work your system has to do in drawing them. A lot of people are already experiencing performance issues on the more heavy maps. -
Having never played any MTA before R.1.1.1 should i be..
Blokker_1999 replied to bloodeye's topic in General discussion
The current MTA:SA release is race only, not many servers offer free roam. DM will be released later on, one of the advantages of MTA is that we have a map builder so people can build small size arenas. -
Google is broken as well, i typed in "idiot" and your name didn't come out on top ...

Orb!ter, just for the fun of it. Could you install fraps and take a screenshot of your fps in game?
-
when you make something and it takes a lot of time and effort, backup on a regular basis. There is not much you can do about a corrupt file. And remember. MTA is still software that is under heavy development.
-
I want to point to you that your graphics card does not even meet the system requirements of GTA:SA . Rockstart itself recommends a graphics card with at least 64MB. And i can even guess that your card uses shared memory. Beleive me when i say that SA does not run superb on your system, if you would see it compared to a system that meets the requirements you would notice the difference. Add to that that MTA increases the system requirements due to the fact that we add additional 3D stuff and that our software also requires system memory and processor time. Even if you are able to install and run MTA then there is the additional problem of low framerate. Since the speed of vehicles is based on that frame rate you will notice that you will be slower then most people playing MTA.

Honestly, i find that a strange list. Testing for competing brands, both hardware and software ... You know what, send me your name and some games you tested so we can look you up in the credits.

old news. Could even be for the next PSP game, who knows., and most team members don't really like to move to scotland.
