  1. MTA:SA doesn't make any changes to your original files, so you don't need two copies unless one has mods.
  2. Of course they're gonna put the entire map in.
  3. Try re-installing MTA. If that doesn't work, re-install GTA too (along with user files).
  4. Got client v1.1? Got any mods installed?
  5. They took disabled alt-tab everywhere cause it was causing a crash.
  6. No, you can't set the time limit for respawning in server settings, only in the .map file. You can set a total time limit in the server though, to override long time limits set in individual .maps. You can set the respawn time in the map file.. make it shorter if you wish. You have to wait for another 2 seconds so people can see you're about to spawn. It respawns you at the last checkpoint, where do you expect it to respawn you? If you die after the same checkpoint twice, it spawns you one checkpoint back so that you don't get stuck in an infinite spawn-and-die loop. There would be problems with this, like if you're flying a plane or if you need speed to clear an obstacle.
  7. Highly doubt it can be a hardware issue, don't think it's because of SP2 either since I have it and it works. How did both of you install it? Did one install it over R1.0, the other fresh, etc?
  8. We tested it extensively and no one had any of these problems.. they happen for some people, they don't for most.
  9. For client 1.1 use server 1.1, for client 1.0 use server 1.0.3.
  10. Respawning is optional.. it's specified in the .map file whether there's respawn or not. Give it some time and people will update their maps with the proper settings for them.
  11. I'm pretty sure everyone gets the CJ smoking/drinking thing. It was a side effect of fixing a bug caused by the newly synced animations.
  12. I've actually noticed very short lockups in 1.1 (betas) that weren't present in 1.0. They happen pretty often and pause the game for a fraction of a second (as if you were taking a screenshot, but shorter).
  13. Or just right click on my computer and choose properties, and look at the bottom left window that comes up. Ok well this is what I have.. Acer Incorporated AMD Anthlon 64X2 dual core Processor 3800+ 2.01 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM Physical address Extension. I'm not sure if these are the right specs but hopefully they are. Okay so you do have a dual core processor.. and it's 99% likely that it's the cause of your problems. You'll have to disable one of the cores for gta_sa.exe process. Usually you would start the game, open task manager, right click gta_sa.exe, and uncheck one of the processors, but you since can't minimize in R1.1, not sure how you can do this.

    Wtf? FilePlanet!?!?!

It's hosted exclusively on FP for the first day of release. Tommorrow there will be more mirrors.
  15. Download some saves http://vladimir.skach.cz/sanandreas/
  16. Also, the race nominations conflict with the view (when you press a number to vote), the view should be locked during map votes.
  17. Why post this here..? Make a new topic.
  18. Make sure you don't have any other mods installed. If you don't, try reinstalling GTA:SA (including SA User files in My Documents folder, just make a backup of your replays).
  19. Is a 30 minute download wait for one day really such a big problem? There will be more mirrors later.
  20. It's a known issue, unfortunately wasn't fixed for R1.1.
  21. Screwston..... you need to tell us what CPU you have. Go to Start > Control Panel > System, and tell us what it says in the General tab under 'Computer:'.
  22. You put the maps that you want your server to cycle through in the MTA San Andreas\server\mods\race\maps directory, then choose the next race after the current one finishes (in R1.1). To vote for a race type vote race ___ in the console (`).
  23. Just to be clear.. this is a Race release, there is NO foot sync, you are locked inside your vehicle. DM with foot sync is still in development and will come later.
  24. Everythings in the server.conf file.. look in there and you'll figure it out. To fix the first problem, make sure you have the latest server (1.0.3 for 1.0 clients and 1.1 for 1.1 clients).
  25. It's for administrating a server on a remote machine, so if you have access to the server you don't need it.
