Actually it has been suggested before but not in the topic you guys are talking about. (here and here). Anyway I definately agree with it, but unfortunately it's low teams priority list.
-
I think it should resemble the last one, with lots of characters (preferably from SA) standing in a straight line, and maybe some vehicles in the back. If we get that media, people can start working from that.

type race mod under By Map

Look at your router documentation, you should be able to access the settings through your local IP (like 192.168.0.1) and open the ports there.

No.. I never said they were slower than cars. That doesn't mean they won't have trouble keeping up, as they don't fly straight and at full speed the whole time (read my above posts).
-
I prefer it the way it is, it would be too cluttered to have everything in the SA folder. It's neater and more organized to have a seperate MTA folder with all the stuff you need (server, maps, launch shortcut).
-
About the performance.. Did changing the audio settings like I said help? Try putting the frame limiter on and mess with frame sync too. If all that fails, try reinstalling GTA3.
-
Um, just right click on the file and press delete (saves it to C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server\mods\race\maps).

Oh I thought you were talking about SR. My first sentece was about my experience in SR, the rest was about your map. I didn't know the ratio was 1:2, that should definately give the hunters a better chance.
-
that i bet you picked the first one on the list lol Just go back and pick another server man Still looking for another another file host - think i might have one Man im havin a bad day now lol Indeed, only the first server had a wait when I clicked it. PacMaan try http://thegamersalliance.com/ edit: pretty slow, 15 KB/s

Cars can only outrun the hunters on long straightaways, and only a few of the cars are capable of that. I also designed it so the planes that could easily outrun the hunters are more difficult to get (notice that I put a nevada on the runway and rustler and dodo are in hangars). The majority of the games I've played end as a hunter win also, but the game can be very tense and exciting regardless. Really? In my experience a smuggler almost always manges to get through. Even though the hunters can match the speed of the cars, they may be occupied with chasing someone closer to them and have a long way to go to get the next person (since the race is over such a long distance). But this is all theoretical, we can only see how it really works in-game.

Can you be more specific? Good point, I think raising it to 30 or 35 might be the best solution.

Is the server on your computer? If so, intall a server (IIS or Apache) then set up a site on it with the script you found.
-
Why would you want 0.3 when the newest version is 0.5? There is, check out this thread: http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=15151

Choose 'application preference' and make sure it's off in GTA:SA options (though just 2X AA and AF shouldn't have a big performance hit).

I played it briefly in the editor and it looks pretty fun. The biggest problem I see is the Hunters keeping up with the cars, since the race goes through such a long distance and there are so many different routes they can take, not to mention that people can get planes (which is otherwise a pretty cool idea though, forcing you to land at the airports only ). Can't wait to try it out with some people. I might figure out a way to improve the spawn in the next version. Right now it's only a problem in games with over 12 players. Or just space the spawns out further, they don't necessarily have to be side by side.
-
haha, i gotta try that some time.
-
So true. Hopefully they'll disable it in deathmatch as a slight speed advantage woudn't make any difference. Huh?
-
Seriously? Just take out the extra letters and commas and you should be fine.
-
That is the second map, I was talking about the first. I don't know why, lol, maybe he got his friends to vote, maybe he told a lot of people in a server about it, who knows?
-
The first one says awaiting 3 votes, we don't know if it has 0, 1, or 2

True, it does seem extreme like I said, but at least we know when it happens now. Anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, smoothes out edges and makes distant textures sharper. Both can take a large toll on performance. I know my nVidia control panel (Properties > Settings > Advanced) has it, I'm pretty sure ATI does too. Look around in there and make sure it's off/disabled.

How many people were playing when you were getting the framerate you reported on the first page? If there were 20+ people at start, then getting low fps is expected. You never see this many vehicles on screen in single player so that may be the cause. But 5-8 fps does seem a little extreme. You may have already done this, but just to be sure, - did you check if AA or AF isn't being forced on the game from your video card control panel? - what is your game resolution and did you try lowering it? - did you try playing on a server by yourself or with very few people?

Make changes to a map that's already uploaded to MTA Center

It sure is, and that was my 'opinion' Am I not allowed to express it like the posters above?
