Interestingly, the majority of these 'cheater' accusations come from newbs to the game, or people who don't understand how ping/lag works in MTA. They figure that if they see blood, then they hit you. It's really quite odd that the people who know how to play MTA the best, the ones who know the nuances of the game, are the ones who get branded as cheaters.

check to see that your config.cfg is NOT empty (should be at C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\config.cfg). If it is empty, then open it with notepad, and put in this: bind t say bind F9 showchat bind F10 shownames bind F11 showplayers bind F12 screenshot That may have something to do with your disconnection problems... Try a lot of servers, since your connection may be bad to some servers.

No, it is not necessary. It doesn't matter wether you have VC installed, or not installed... The server will still perform the same. (Unless of course you actually run VC... Then things will obviously slow down).

I've heard about this problem... forget the fix for it though. Did you set the right VC version in MTA? Does hitting enter a bunch of times do anything?

it's probably easiest to just re-install VC, but there are some .dat files in C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\data\maps that you may be able to edit.

The reason is that it IS a teamplay game, but there just isn't any objective... There's no reason to play as a team. If robbers had to rob a bank, then yes, people would work together to stop them, and the robbers would work together to rob it. Without an objective, there's no reason to help teammates. EDIT: another way of thinking of this: In this game mode, you cannot lose, or win. There isn't any reason to try.

what's the error, and are you sure you're connecting to a real server?

In the top right of the MTA window, there's a little drop down box... Choose which version of VC you have, or just try both and see if one of them works.
